    Wouldn't the scales from the 1820's be real ivory instead of faux?

    Yes, but you cant advertise real ivory on ebay, so sellers call it fake/imitation ivory, ox bone, natural material or similar descriptions. Looks to be latter than 1820 to me. The pivot pin looks to be replaced and some preliminary restoration work on the blade.

    It probably got snapped up by a 'royalty collector' rather than a razor guy though :(

    it is still just a razor but a very nice one.
