    Default Saddleback Wallet Colors/Suggestions

    Hi All.

I recently ordered the small bifold in Dark Coffee Brown..I ordered the small because of all the reviews that the medium is too bulky..Well, I met up with a member here to pass off some shaving soap that I purchased(Discontinued Irisch Moos), and I noticed he happened to have the Medium bifold in Dk Coffee brown..I asked to see it, and it definitely didnt seem too big at all, so I immediately placed an order for the Medium..This time in Chestnut.....I still have time to change the order, as I just placed it tonight..Seeing his in Drk Coffee Brown, I thought it was very dark, almost black..I like it , but I opted to try the Chestnut..Do you guys think its too reddish? Or is it more a mahogany brown..Will it age nicely like the coffee? To look somewhat rugged, yet refined?

    Thanks for your help,
    Regards
    B

I would like to have the small gadget pouch in chestnut at some point and a bible cover in dark coffee brown.

As for now I have the ID wallet in tobacco colour and it is actually darker than I thought it would be (which I find is a good thing).

From the pictures I find chestnut to be fine for some purposes but a bit too red to appear formal or particilar masculine.
I wouldn`t want it in a wallet - if you haven`t tried tobacco I`ll advise you to do so.

    It surprised me very positively.
I try to set myself second.

I have the large wallet in Chestnut and the large pad folio in Chestnut.
The Wallet has turned a nice dark brown because it gets handled all the time.
I wear jeans most of the time and I spend too much money. It sees good use
You don't have to be too careful with SB products. Use them and they will get a nice worn look sooner than you think.
I've been using the wallet for 2 years.

The pad folio has retained it's original colour because it sees a lot less use and doesn't have my greasy hands all over it all the time.
I'll be taking it to a meeting today, but by no means does it get carried around like my wallet.

The Chestnut colour seems quite red in the pictures, but it isn't that red in real life.
It's kind of hard to describe.

Mind you I've had my folio and wallet for a few years now, so I don't know if the colours have changed any.

Its not really a big deal. I guess, as I can either return it or BST it, if I dont like it. Do you think its possible to snap a quick photo? All the photos I see of the chestnut are new and very RED...If not, no big deal, as Ill just return it, if I dont like it..I just figure Id save myself the time of sending walllets back and forth....

    Thanks Again
    Youve been a great help!

Ok, I'm not the greatest photographer but this one looked the best of what I took.
I wanted to get as much light on it as possible so you could see the colour.
All the other pics turned out too dark.

Anyway, you can see the chestnut colour and how it's darkened.
Honestly, these wallets are big and sturdy. If you want slim and refined, look elsewhere.

However, it will be the last wallet you ever need to buy.
They do break in a bit. More than people think.

Thanks!! I like that color allot! It darkens nicely!

Much appreciated. I just cancelled my order of the chestnut, because i didnt hear back, and I was afraid it was going to ship. I was going to wait for my delivery of the small wallet in Coffee brown to see how i like that color for the medium. Now I have to call back and replace the order again in Chestnut!!

    Regards

It retains the red colour but it's not red by any means. My Pad folio is much more red than this, but then again, it doesn't see as much action in my hands.

The Chestnut is a nice rich colour when it wears in a bit.

I carry the ID Wallet in chestnut and I like the color. I also have the large thin briefcase in chestnut. The pictures make it appear more red than it actually is. It's a great color.

    Cheers!

I agree. I have the medium wallet in chestnut, and I don't think it looks nearly as reddish as most pictures I see on a computer screen.

It really is all James' fault.

(Okay, maybe Owen had something to do with it as well.

How do you like it? If you had to, would you buy it in Chestnut again, or would you chose a different color?

Love it. If I somehow lost it or had it stolen (the only possibilities, 'cuz I'm quite certain it will outlive me), I would definitely buy it again, and I would get the chestnut.

I agree. I have several pieces in chestnut and in tobacco, and I'm leaning more and more to the tobacco. The lighter the original product, the more patina will develop over the coming years.

Ultimately, you get whatever colour best says "that's how I roll."
Be there or be square. Only I can do both!
I've got a cat named Beefeater and a dog named Beefeater, and two goldfish called Beefeater and Beefeater. There's Beefeater my hamster and Beefeater my horse, and my piglet, known as Beefeater of course.

There's wisdom in this. My brother has the Dark Coffee Brown Wallet in Large and his looks very dark.
He's had it for longer than I have and It is well used. In a few more years you won't be able to tell it from black.

I love my card case and small gadget pouch in Chestnut. Part of me wishes I had gotten my Thin Briefcase in the same leather, but I'm a huge fan of the Light Tobacco (now discontinued) that I got. They all age very well and I don't think you can go wrong regardless of which color you choose.

I have a card case and satchel in chestnut too and i love the color. It is not red at all like the above picture but more brown. The color on the website is pretty close to what it looks like in real life.
