Default New Every Man Jack shave cream intended for traditional shaving

So I just saw this at the Every Man Jack website, it looks like they are getting in on the traditional shaving scene, they also have some pre-shave and a brush.

    http://everymanjack.com/products/sha...brushless.html

Here is the ingredient list: Alcohol Denat., C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Octyl Palmitate, Isopropyl Myristate, Tocopherol Acetate (Vitamin E), Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Arnica Cordifolia (Arnica) Extract, Camellia sinensis (White Tea) Extract, Bisabolol

I am thinking of buy some, $10 for 8 oz is a great price if it performs. What do you think?

Doesn't even sound like it would lather. Denatured Alcohol is 1st ingredient, and I cannot even pronounce next 3. :)

Pretty sure that's an aftershave recipe, not the shaving cream.

The link says "NO PTHALATES" What the hell would pthalates be doing in a shave cream? They're used to soften plastics & make them more pliable. I also have never seen any evidence as to why their exclusion would be a good thing. I am sure this has nothing to do with your question but junk science hippie babble always irritates me.
That being said, I have used Every Man Jack's pre-shave face scrub. I have to say I rate it with a very solid definite . . . meh. It's not bad, but it's never blown my skirt up either. It's got a minty smell, but also a very OFF smell as well which I am NOT fond of. It has been relegated to my backpack "I'm somewhere away from home & need to not stink" dopp bag. They haven't impressed me, and I would want to see AWESOME reviews of their stuff before I go dropping my hard earned with them again.

They also have a pre-shave oil and a brush.

The brush looks rather sharp. It must be synthetic since they state no animal byproducts. $15 for that.

That has to be a typo. It's the same ingredient list they show for their "electric pre-shave"

Looks like a step in the right direction for this brand. I'd still pick the VDH kit instead.

Interesting. They started carrying EMJ in Canada, I hope to see their shaving collection soon.

No way those are the correct ingredients for the shaving cream. I emailed them and told them about it...it's a mistake for sure.

I agree with cvac and 5savages. The description on their site say it has sunflower seed oil and aloe. Neither one are listed in the ingredients. I'd like to see the real ingredients.

You can't see the ingredients on any of the pics either, hopefully they will put the correct ingredients up soon.

I sent them an e-mail explaining the error. They sent me the correct ingredient list:

Aqua/Water/Eau, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Stearic Acid, Glycerin, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Panthenol (Vitamin B5), Allantoin, Decyl Glucoside, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin. *Certified Organic

They have already corrected the web page.

Obviously its all about the ratios and how the ingredients are mixed, but that's a pretty nice ingredient list, and I'm intrigued by the "cedarwood" scent; there are not too many other scents out there (most of the ones I recall, like QCS or Castle Forbes have cedar combined with another scent) with cedar as a primary scent. And for $10 for 8 oz and (hopefully) accessible at Target? Has potential and, at the very least, a step in the right direction.

I had some of their body wash in "Cedarwood" but I never got to try it. My son found it, smelled it, and took it. I did smell it, and I recall that I enjoyed the scent, but that was 2 months ago and have CRS disease, so who knows.
