    Default Strop Leather

Sorry guys, I'm sure this has been asked before but after doing a search and combing 2-3 pages of results I figured I could get a faster answer by posting. Wanting to make my own strop and have seen people recomend the latigo at Tandy but would this work as well?

What is the difference between this and latigo? Should I stay away from the strap material and try my luck in the scrap bin? I have limited tools so buying a side of Latigo and trying to cut to shape is a little daunting.

Thanks for the help (I hope?)

I bought a replacement for my strop from Larry at whipped dog. He does custom cut pieces and charges a very reasonable fee. Ships very quickly as well.

I just did the same thing. His english bridle leather is top notch and his prices are VERY reasonable. I used it to replace my latigo strop. Nothing wrong with latigo, just like this stuff better.

Whatever feels good is fine. Latigo is a bit too sticky for me. Try Zack White for leather straps.

IMO, Natural cowhide is really fast and has almost no draw. Serves the same purpose, but it just depends on what you like.
