    Smile Russian shave creams

I HAVE JUST RECIEVED MY FIRST 4 RUSSIAN SHAVING CREAMS FROM THE VENDOR VANAGZ. (PURCHASED TET A TET,VIKING,TOP TEN AND THE SOAPY RUSSIAN SHAVE CREAM.

THEY LOOK GREAT AND HAVE JUST TRIED THE
    SOAPY (Svoboda M'il'niy)- NOT BAD.

I WILL REVIEW IN DETAIL A BIT LATER ON BUT IF YOUR LOOKING FOR REASONABLY PRICED RUSSIAN SHAVE PRODUCTS I WOULD GIVE THEM A GO.

    I ordered them through ebay.

The seller is VANAGZ and is from Lithuania. The postage costs are cheap and I was informed that Voskhod and Rapira Platinum Lux will be offered in June.

I have used TET A TET and Mt Everest and they're both excellent creams.

I've face lathered both of those with great results. I had samples of 6 Russian cremes and loved them all, high-quality stuff. It's good to see them being more widely available!

Seen 4 of them available in one shop locally. Bought Tet-A-Tet cream. Can only compare to Palmolive. I think I get better lather from T-A-T.

BTW, I'm interested in trying "budget gems" from other parts of the world. Could help with one of those creams in return

What scent do you get from tet a tet?

The first thing I think of is "Bar Keepers Friend" cleansing powder... Or Ajax/Comet cleanser minus the bleach.

Have no idea how "Bar keepers friend" smells But T-A-T smell doesn't annoy me. Just a light scent of menthol and a bit tingling which I like.

If you don't like that scent of tet-a-tet ,everest cream is a great alternative..here is a great shot from Bruce of some of russia's best...this version of viking is not the bulgarian version...I have tried 3 versions of the phyto expert, and I would rate it as the absolute finest from russia, and world class...another great cream from russia ,not in photo,is the nord-ost line.

All good stuff, and the prices are good too. I count myself lucky that I can get them quite easily here, but even over here they're edged-out by the big brand names such as Gillette and occupy little shelf space. You still need to know where to look(sigh).
Men over here seemed surprised when you tell them that you use them, as if they're old-fashioned or not 'modern' enough or poor quality. One woman chuckled when I told her I liked 'Svoboda' and said she still buys it for her grandfather.
Yet, they have such a good reputation on the forums that I'm sure you could make money exporting them. Now there's an idea.........

Never said I didn't like it... LOL Just thought it was a very odd scent for a shave cream.

I just received a delivery from Vanagz of Tet a Tet and Everest cream and aftershave tubes. I'm looking forward to the morning shave. Pretty powerful scents - coming out of a metal tube, I'm thinking these will not fade like a whiff of lavender and I shouldn't wear a purple shirt tomorrow.

Tet-A-Tet smells to me like what I imagine an Eastern European communist block apartment building smells like. And that's not a bad thing, it reminds me of hanging out at the local Ukrainian Club when I was a kid, waiting for my mom after church.

I tried Tet-A-Tet today for the first time - I got a tube in a swap with a B&B member in Lithuania. And it's excellent stuff.

The cream seemed softer then others, but it still only took a small amount to make far more lather than I needed, and it was good rich lather too.

I like the scent - fresh and clean, and slightly medicinal, with a light hint of menthol.
