Default Post your Pic First Straight Razor

Just read Legion's post regarding first straight shave : http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthr...ht-razor-shave

I wanted to see if anyone has pics of their "First Straight Razor"

I think this will be interesting

    Here is mine:

Henry Sears and Son 5/8. I really destroyed it when I was learning how to hone.

Anyone else would like to share?

First one I ever bought and used back in 2007.... Wade & Butcher 5/8 with Barber's Notch...honed by Josh Earl...Sold to B&B member and he restored and rescaled it I believe. I wish I would have kept this one since it was my first!

Here is mine. Dovo 6/8 half hollow. Had it rescaled cuz I didn't like the cheap plastic scales and I wanted to keep it cuz it was my first razor.

Mine (still use it in my rotation) is a 13/16 - The Pratical - HB520

I then got a shave ready straight that I used while The Pratical was honed. I do not have that one anymore.

That might have been the one you swapped to me to learn with! If it is, I like to think of it travelling Australia, helping out newby shavers, like Kane in the Kung Fu TV series.

My first was a Boker. I added my initials to the blade with a laser.

Wester Brothers Anchor 5/8" off the bay. Cleaned and polished, then off to Larry A. for honing. Still used regularly.
A relationship with shaving requires a lot of work and commitment.

My first blade was this Union Cutlery from Orleans, GA. I got it on EBay for well under $20.

My first to use was my Great Uncle's Case Bros. Had Larry A. hone it up for me and have been trying to keep it sharp ever since. I have 5 more heirloom razors to go through if I ever get this one figured out!

My first- a 4/8 Griffon No. 10. I cleaned up the blade a little, bought new scales from The Superior Shave, and sent it to Whipped Dog to be honed.
This was passed on to my brother in law, I believe he still has it.
