Default Vintage Simpsons Brush on ebay

I've never seen a Simpsons brush like this:

I hope someone here had the good fortune of getting it.

It was, without a doubt, a very unique offering.

It certainly is unusual. I'm glad that trend didn't last.

here is a quote from Gary from another Shaving site, when I asked about it and where it fit in as far as year etc:

Oh it definitely fits in, but not at the age listed - although I have been contacted about it and I believe my comments are now showing.
Well it's not an 'Art Deco' brush - actually from the 60s. We made that style in various colours - red, blue, green as well as the one on show. Not from the Art Deco era.
And there was never anything such as a 'Gold Medal Special'. Over the course of 5 decades Simpson brushes held the Gold Medallion/Gold Medal for brushes right across the board - bestowed throught the British Industries Fair.
An easy way for you guys to see this isn't a 1930s brush is the Simpson decal. If it was a 1930s brush it would have 'Made in London' not 'Made in England' on the decal. Brushes after our move following the factory bombing in 1941 have 'Made in England'.

There seemed to be a minor bonanza of interesting Simpson brushes on ebay:

Amazing, but too rich for my blood.

Now that's a nice one. But that is just crazy to pay that for a brush.

IMO there is not a brush out there worth over $300. But I do have some hones worth that so I guess it's whatever you are into.

That is really nice. There is a similar one on ebay now. A little high for a used brush, but I'd love to have it.

For the collectors out there. I believe that is called VAD: vintage acquisition disorder. That is an expensive and robust disorder and rears its head every so often. Right now, it's got me captive for vintage aftershaves.

Mine is vintage Rooneys and other butterscotches made in England excluding Simpsons. They have eluded me so far or have been way more than I want to spend. Except for my butterscotch wee scot.

I think there is no right price for these vintage items, if the seller and the buyer are happy with the deal, this is the most important IMO.
