Default My New Wade & Butcher Ebay special Arrived!!! Im Speechless!!!!!

OK..So I started a thread the other day, immediately after I won the auction, and posted photos from the seller, wondering if it was a rescale, or horn, or rusted?? Because the sellers photos had marks on the blade that looked like rust.(heres the post)http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthr...7-8-on-The-Bay..Turns out it was glare!!! This razor is NOS!!!!!! Not a mark on it!! Never Honed. Perfect scales, Bakelite? Vulcanized Rubber? Oh my goodness..Apparently, the seller found the blade in an old backpack from the late 1800's... how this thing is in the condition its in after 120 years is beyond me......Im hesitant to even hone it...I know maybe Im making a big dealout of nothing..But if I didnt know better, Id think W&B started manufacturing again in 2012, and this is a retro model..Thats how impeccably kept this thing is...Anyway, here are my photos........

Use it and enjoy it! To wrap it up and hide for another 120 years would be a shame .

It would be a shame not to enjoy such a beautiful razor. I'd hone it and put it to use.

Im really new at this, and Im sure its not unheard of, but all the old W&B's I see on the forums that are "desirable", have been either polished, light pitting, or restored in one way or another, unless theyre the later era W&B's from the 50's...This thing looks like its been Vacuum Sealed for 100 years! Or maybe Im just new and naive, and this is common?

This is the picture from ebay of this razor..Looks OK, like maybe there may be some rust..People were still telling me I scored, even from this photo, and how the rust can be easily removed!!...Now the pictures above!!!! Luckily for me, the seller wasnt a good photographer, or he would have gotten 3 times the $ for this baby, and it would definitely not be mine

Very nice! Difficult to get a W&B in that condition. I have one almost the same, just smaller. Hone it and enjoy it!

Default The Finish of the Steel

Someone suggested I take photos of the finish of the steel, for restorers to have a reference......This is the best I could do, for the moment, and I could only take the etched side, because my camera's autofocus needed the lettering of the etching to focus on....Here they are
