Default Have Been considering adding a Boar to the mix

If I was to get only one Boar Brush which would you guys suggest. I am only getting one for now. Because If I do not care for it it, I will not be getting another.

My current go to brush is a 28mm TGN 2 band, which I am in love with. I need to give the Boar a try though.

    Thanks!

I would suggest a Omega 10290 if you bowl and face lather, otherwise go with a Omega 49. I like the Omega boars over the Semogue's, YMMV

Both brands are great IMO. If you want to try Semogue, I love the SOC (Owner's Club). Amazing brush.

My first instinct was to suggest Semogue 1305 or 830. Then after noticing the knot size of your TGN badger, I think you should try Omega 31064. I guess Semogue 2000 will be suitable too but I don't own one.

Get a Semogue first. The models with the higher grade undyed hair like the 1250 and the 2030B etc. have short break in times and are reasonably soft out of the box. Omega 49 requires a lot more break in time and is more scritchy. I suppose it depends on how much scritch you are willing to tolerate. My scritch tolerance is pretty low, personally.

+1 on Omega. Very good brushes.

My vote goes to Semogue. I was nervous at first. Now I love that brush.

If your current brush is a TGN 28mm, I'd say go big or go home. Semogue 2000.

Hmmm, I have an Omega 49 and a Semogue 1305 and love them both. First off, I hope you realize that boar brushes need time to break in and until they do you may very well hate them. Honestly, I considered chucking my 1305 for a while until it finally reached the promised land. Patience is the key! That being said, the Omega 49 broke in MUCH quicker but once they're both broken in the 1305 gets the edge for usability.

I wanted to try a boar after having only used badgers for a while but I didnt want to spend much on it. I bought an Omega Pro 49 for about $12 and I loved it. Now that I know I like them I'm getting a Semogue Owners Club soon.

Another vote for SOC. vintage scent has them on the cheap if you're patient enough to wait on shipping from Portugal.

Go for the SOC if you are used to a 28 mm knot!

If you want to try something completely different, get a Semogue 1520 or 620. It's the same knot with different handles.

I also recommend the SOC and 1800.

I have had my Omega 31025 for a couple weeks. It is breaking in nice. I really like this brush for my hard soaps.

SOC is definitely one of the best boars.
