Default Checking In From SE Utah

I started shaving when I was about 19 or 20 (~1972). My first razor was a Trac II. I tried dad’s Tech a few times, and while I didn’t really hate it, I always went back to the Trac II.

Fast forward 40 years, I still shave only a couple times a week with the same Trac II I started with in college, Wal*Mart Wilkies & Edge Gel. Not a bad shave, depending on how much effort I put in to it. I honestly can’t remember the last time I nicked or cut myself. I touch up between shaves with my Braun recharageable.

About a month ago a member of UtahConcealedCarry started a thread about DE shaving, which eventually led me to B&B. My interest & curiosity in DE shaving increased as I read more on the UCC thread & here on B&B (as well as other sites). I drank the Kool-Aid & picked up a nice pre-war Tech Fat Handle on eBay. I went for the Tech because, well because that’s what dad used – and if it was good enough for him, it’s good enough for me! But I still use sissy shaving cream! (Yea, from a can – I know…)

I've had a half-dozen DE shaves now, & I couldn't be happier! I am getting close, comfortable shaves even with the canned gel. The shaves seem to be closer than with the Trac II.

Now, I know there are more & perhaps better options out there. But for now, I am satisfied. I will have to do some digging for the mug & brush that my wife gave me just after we were married in ’76, and I think grandpa's is not too far away either (I did find his SE, but that's another story).

    Welcome to B&B.

Trac II those were the days. Then, came Mach 3 and I was happy until I paid the price for the new cartridges.

Then, I went to straights ... and while the razor price does not hit you too badly the, other stuff needed can cost a bundle.

But, straights is where I want to be when I have the time and when I don't I found DE's.

Since I suffer from RAD ... I have found quite a few DE's to enjoy.

Now for years I have not used Goo from a Can but, now I have found lots and lots of other shaving soaps and creams and sticks to use and enjoy.

    When will it ever end?

    Ouch! That's gotta hurt Timo.

Yes, this is a great place to live, work, and play! (Espically PLAY!)

I've been tempted a time or two to give in to the 'urge', but RAD has not taken over my life (yet!).

I'm tellin' ya, this DE shaving is right uptown for me & I'm lovin' every minute of it!

Welcome aboard the good ship B&B. Take a stroll on the promenade deck and enjoy the voyage.

Always remember, relax but be vigilant when you shave!
