I can't count how many times I've shaved while taking a water taxi to a Bangkok whorehouse.

+1 - Between work, elderly family members, a crazy first wife, and currently life on a flood plane in tornado country, I have always found it good to keep two "Go bags" to be grabbed if I'm leaving in a hurry. One is TSA approved, the other isn't.

No way would I use it. The last cart razor I used I had razor rash under my collar for a week. Swore never again.

    > How was the shave? close and smooth, but completely without satisfaction. I hadn't realized really how much I enjoy shaving now, until I had to go back. It was a "scrape the face and get to work" exercise plain and simple. I don't miss the old way, even taking into account the occasional weeper or cut from my DE.

    +1 - especially the
"scrape the face and get to work" part.

About once every couple weeks [yesterday for example] I find myself running late in the morning. My DE shave takes me 15-20 minutes of no hurry, self-indulgent ME time - so I pull out a Mach 3 and Edge Gel and spend 5 quick minutes whacking whiskers.

I get the time back but my disposition is not improved, especially later in the afternoon when the facial flagella start reappearing.

In case you need a lesson in shaving with the Proglide, here you are. It seems the cost in blades is more than made up for in how little shaving cream you end up using.

What was the point of using any cream at all?

Man, I'd been thinking about giving up one enjoyable shave to science, but almost forty? Egads!

IRRC, I got about a week or so per cart before the big switch.
Proctor Gamble sent me a Proglide along with my $15 check for sending them back my broken M3 Power. I just used it last month and the best I could get out of it was 8 shaves before it caused me irritation and a red neck. It went into the recycle bin.

I won't deny that cartridge razors can give good shaves. It's just that I'm to the point now where the idea of holding a plastic razor seems really beneath me. We're talking full-on snobbishness.

The stuff is on my list anyway, so now I have a Proglide. Never had anything but a Fusion before.

Shall I use it? Or is it too evil to be trusted to mortal men?
    That's not a freebie.

That's like the drug dealer on the corner.

The handle is worthless... dime a dozen... the Proglide blades are 100% compatible with the original Fusion.

But $28 for 4 carts.... ya.... just like the guy wearing the heavy jacket on the corner when it's 90 degrees....

    I got it figured out.

I used it once. Not a bad shave, but like a Pat Poone cover of a Little Richard song, compared to my usual shave it was soulless.

After that, it got claimed by my visiting sister-in-law for her gams.

    All's well that ends well.
