Default How many fragrances do you have in your regular rotation ?

Now that Basenotes are down and fragrantica seems to be quiet I thought I would ask you guys in here how many fragrances you have in your den and in your steady rotation ?

Do you split your frags into seasons or do you just use them all year round, when you're in the mood for it ?

I tend to think that I should be able to use any fragrance, any time, any season - no matter what, but I still end up preferring to use my tobacco, leather, musky & heavy sweeter fragrances in the colder part of the year and the lighter, citrus based fresh & aquatic fragrances in the warmer part of the year.

I have been updating my fragrance collection ever since I found badger & blade and then base notes in early September 2011.
Currently I have 18 bottles - niche as well as designer frags on order - and my current number of fragrances just passed the 260 mark this week.

Definitely have a couple of frags I prefer to use during the warmer reason - for instance Creed Millesime Imperial, Creed Virgin Island Water, Malle Geranium Pour Monsieur, Chanel Allure Edition Blanche, Dior Homme Sport, Chanel Allure Sport, Perry Ellis Red/Aqua Di Gio, Aqua Fahrenheit, Polo Blue & Bvlgari Aqua Marine just to name a few of my favorites for the warmer weather.

Of course you can also use them during the winter season - but these frags are lighter in structure and for me seem to disappear faster in colder water, which is why I prefer to use them in the warmer part of the year.

I try to keep all my frags in a drawer in a room, where it's pretty steady temperature, not to warm - and of course no exposure to light - in order to keep my frags as fresh for as long a time as possible. They say 36 months on the frags, but I think you can easily get 5-6 years out of them before some of them turn, and maybe even 12-15 years depending on what frag it is.

How many frags do you have in your regular rotation ?
Do you prefer designer over niche - why ? - price or ?

My gig is rotate through stuff, but I have no regard to season, I wear them all based on my mood of the day. I sure as heck dont have as many as you though

I generally run 4-5 fragrances in each period of my life and I tend to stick with the same ones over and over. I enjoy certain scents too much not to be able to wear them 2-3x a week sometimes, so I tend to go through a bottle of Edt once every 6 months. This time I am on Hanae Mori, Issey Miyake, BB and T&H Trafalgar. Issey is almost done and Floris 89 is up next, and probably either a Creed (I want to do some more sniffing at Niemans) or old reliable Pasha.

Im a nose guy, not a label guy or marketing guy. If it doesnt smell good, Im not going to buy it. Thats why I run the gamut between older, "lower end" asian designer (Hanae, Issey) to higher end or more limited production BB or Floris or Cartier, to classic obscures like Trafalgar

Right now im sniffing Chanel 19 as I run chkdsk on SWMBOs computer :

Excellent advice there. I have a bit too many frags to write about now but recently bought 2 bottles of Malizia Uomo Vetyver AS and one EDT of the same and I am gob-smacked they are so good, especially the AS. I didn't know vetiver could be smoky before this.

I have around twenty fragrances and I wear most of them all year. There are a few that I reserve for certain seasons or occasions, though.

I usually only have one bottle that I buy from Macy's. If it's samples, then I use different fragrances each day or save the best smelling for special occasions.

I'm new to frag AD bug. I'm still acquiring samples and figuring out a rotation. But this strikes me as one of those personal things. Do what it is fun for you. Use a different frag each day, or each week, etc...whatever strikes your fancy!

I have 6 on regular rotation and have more in the shelves. Every month or so I'll sift through websites and stores for something new and interesting. Luckily SWMBO loves fragrances, and doesn't hinder the growth of my collection. Moving Forward...

I have about 40 and rotate them pretty randomly. A few are seasonal - I don't often wear Ajaccio Violets in winter but I might.

Yeah I don't have a rotation either. I have almost 60 bottles and unless there's a specific reason for wearing a particular fragrance (meeting/date night/etc) I just pick one of them when I've finished my shave.

Between full bottles and samples I have way too many. Other than one accidental time, (due to basenotes being down and therefore access to my wardrobe info being lost) I haven't worn a fragrance twice yet this year. Perhaps I should look into reducing the selection a bit...... Nah.
I ride a motor scooter most of the time. I get between 80-115 miles to the gallon when I do. On those rare days that I drive my old beater of a car, I get 8 miles to the gallon, YMMV, mine sure does.

I don't really change with season, just Formal, work, and weekend categories and about a dozen in regular "rotation" at one time.

I likely fall into the way more than normal but less then some...if that makes sense.

I will say that I have some bottles that I go to when I am indecisive and I will rotate these on occasion.
