Seraphim has overclocked my amygdala, but I do love the strop, especially the suede component.

I can contribute data for your study. Possibly decrease the amount you will need by about 1/2. You would also get points for using a disadvantaged person in your study... I only have one face but many razors.

I just received my Lama strop today, o this man is wonderful. I had my best straight razor shave after stropping on this.
Is totally different from other strops.
One little question: on the surface of the strop have appeared some very fine scratches. Is this normal?
    Cheers !

Mine has them too. Very fine sanding marks going up and down right? I think it's fine.

I also have a Llama brand strop and it to has the marks. It is a wonderful strop none the less, unlike anything I've used before.

I am almost certain those marks are from Kanoyama himself. Likely the finish sanding maybe? Someone in Japan needs to document his methods and techniques while they still can.

How do you guys hang your strops with the clips when you're using it? Hook in the wall? Loop it into a thick ring like on the TM strops?

    Yup.

I bought a ring from the local hardware store and clipped to the Kanayama. So it now hangs like a TM on the hook.

I have my 3 strops all hanging on the same ring. Just pick the one I want to use.
