Thread: My shoe heaven

    Default My shoe heaven

I was going to take a pic of my fave pair, but found it impossible to decide, so I thought I'd share the lot with any shoe lovers out there. Having said that I particulary like the Antelope skin Loakes (3 in at the top) and the Crockers, (bottom left) because they're a rare make but feel like real quality shoes. The rest are either Loakes, Church's or Grensons. I've had a few pair of Trickers, but have yet to find any my size.

That is some serious leather you have there. I might have to do the same thing.

Thanks. Polishing a nice pair of shoes has, for me anyway, the same therapeutic pleasure as having a nice close shave. And people tend to notice my shoes a lot more often than my close shave.

I love the Walnut colored pair second from right in top row. Those are great. I have a couple of pairs of 25-30 year old Johnston and Murphy's that have held up extremely well. I just recently bought three pairs of Allen Edmunds and they worked their way in to the rotation quickly.

Actually they're a brand I didn't mention; Barkers. They're one of my favourites too. I've read good things about Allen Edmonds, but I've never seen any over here in the UK.

    Sam:
You got alot of great looking 'sole & shoe-leather'.

I myself wear a very stylish traditional type of Dress Shoe. The brand (5yrs old),I wear now are from Jos A. Bank (also buy all my suits, shirts, slacks and sport coats...at great discounts too), Melton Shoe by Johnston & Murphy at around $150US back then and I have both the Black and Bordeaux shoes.

Other than that, for causal wear I have a pair of topsiders, tennis shoes (2 pairs by New Balance), Bavarian loafers (from Germany by Canda), and a pair of boots
    by Dockers.

Nice collection of shoes but you may want to invest in some shoe trees.

Lots of creases in the toe area that could have been avoided using shoe trees.

    Razors - Now Shoes --

Gee ... if my wife sees this post ... she will - I don't know, but it wouldn't be pretty ...

... as I LOVE quality shoes - leather loafers with tassels mainly. I think I have half as many pairs of shoes as she does!

    Thanks for the post!

I picked up two pairs of these last night. So good for summer months. I know they're not quite on topic, but I was so pleased with them I took a pic and need an excuse to share!
It's getting more and more difficult to find a simple pair of classic tranining shoes these days which doesn't carry a premium for being "Old Skool".

Where did you find that black boot in the upper left hand corner?

I had a pair like that in the Navy ... we called 'em "LOX Boots" ... a safety shoe to wear when working around Liquid Oxygen.

They were steel-toed, and pretty heavy, but they were among the most comfortable work shoes I've ever had.
And with that elastic side-panel, they were quick and easy to put on and take off.

I'd love to find another pair to wear on my present job, where safety-toes are mandatory.

    LOL
No, just a lot harder to photograph both the shoes you're wearing from the side!
These were....wait for it.... 45 yuan / 4.5 Pounds / 6 dollars a pair. The last pair lasted well but got so dirty I ditched them when I got my Mizunos at Christmas, but when I saw them again all brand new and clean, I had to replace them.
