Default I hope that this is not blasphemy

But I don't use a DE razor. I use an injector style with an adjustable setting. I have a DE razor that was given to me by a guy on another forum. I think I got some crappy blades, but the injector has a nicer handle. The DE is a SS black handle. I have a tough time holding the handle.

I guess my question is is there that much of a difference? I saw some fatboys on the FS section, but the wife has been on me about my spending. Dang it.

I would try an injector, but availability in Europe is near non-existant.

It occurs to me that the equivalent modern technology to an injector would be a single blade cartridge - in the right quality , that could be a nice product.

There is nothing inherently wrong with the cartridge (provided it holds a single balde), it's just one possible solution to the engineering and transport problems. Mind you, an adjustable single blade cartridge razor would need some novel design features.

I started with my father's injector, mom took possesseion of it when he passed away. I got the bug to get one after reading some info on wetshaving on another forum. Which is where I heard about this place. I picked one up on fleabay. I got some cheapy blades which actually are pretty nice. I can get several shaves out of one blade. I like using the D/E, but I just can't get a good grip.

I need to try some good blade with the D/E, it doesn't shave as close as the injector. For me it is more of a traditional harkening back to older days. Sounds corny I know, but we don't have many gentlemanly rituals in this day and time.

If you're happy with the injector, there's no reason to switch Heck, if you were happy with an 8 blade monstrosity, I wouldn't argue with ya. But, if you want to try a variety of DE blades, check out the sample packs at West Coast Shaving. There's certainly a wider selection of DE blades out there when compared to the Injector blades.

Injectors are totally cool and they can deliver amazing shaves if used properly. When I read the title of your post (about blasphemy) I thought you were going to say you use a Mach3, a Sensor, or maybe disposable plastic razors. That would be blasphemy. But to use a shaving device that's been around since the 1930s, is unique and non-disposable, and can shave your face in a way that will leave you in a state of awe... that's NOT blasphemy. I tried Injectors. I can attest to their ability. They're not somthing I got into, but I still think they can be great.

I get a great shave with my Schick "L" model. I buy the Schick injector blades through Amazon.com and am very satisfied with them.

Injectors are available in Europe, from the Dutch Shaving Shop (http://www.winkelplein.nu/barbershopsuply/). The blades at least seem quite expensive, though.

I shave with an injector from time to time. You could argue that you would save money with DE blades over time. Just a suggestion if you wanted the fatboy or whatever.

If you criticized your wife for buying another lipstick when she already has one, or another purse when she has several hanging in the closet, she would consider you a cheap, controlling sumbitch. Yet you and she both seem to think it is perfectly legitimate for her to decide how many razors you can have. I find that as remarkable as it is inexplicable,

I used to try the old line "You wouldn't expect me to play golf with just one club" but it never seemed to work.

I used to look at the checkbook and see, in one day "Wal-Mart, Target, Kohl's" then "Kohl's, Wal-Mart,Target" depending upon traffic flow. And I would ask "why?"

    I asked and asked...

I miss her! Best to "play" it HER way! Find a cheap cheap fb...they're out there if you're patient!
