    Default My latest restro.

    5/8 Eugene Hoppe, Avos Special, Solingen Germany . Maple scales with shellac finish sealed with ca. Nickel silver pins and stainless washers. my first shellac finish.

    Nice job. Did you have to do much buffing on the blade? If so, you did a nice job preserving the stamp.

    Good job. The scales have a nice glow to them and it's a great blade.

    Drybonz, the blade required a bit of buffing on both sides id say 20 to 25% of the blades faces were dark but not that many pits at all they all came out. the blade face on front has a very few dark spots right on the etch which i mostly left alone to preserve the etch. tom

    Nice. The scales almost glow. They have a great grain pattern to them also.

    Beautiful Tom! You say Shellac sealed with CA? Does that mean you built up a shellac coat and then went over it with CA? Or did you seal the grain with CA and then build shellac over that?

    i seales the interior with CA shellac everywhere.
