Default Oh No, I have SE RAD

After a week with the 1912 and OCMM I have full blown SE RAD.

I had picked Tom's (HoosierTrooper) brain, as I trust his SE judgement, but am looking for more suggestions.

Before the 1912, my favorites where the R41, the 1904 OC, and NEW. Now for the DEs, I think the only thing I am keeping are two i just mentioned, the 2010 R41, and the Parker 97R. Any other DEs that I buy will be only for the handles.

So, in the last hour or so, I have picked up these:

GEM G-Bar (although I would love to find a minty one)
    A minty 1912
    A minty Micromatic Clog Proof
    A nice GEM Damaskeene
    A GEM 1914-1915

I would love to hear from the other GEM aficionados about which SEs you love.

Well, I can only agree with your sig line"

SE Razors are like women, the sexier they are the more you desire them

And, it looks like you are developing a harem there!!!!

I have a genetic predisposition to SE razors. My father only used SEs. I think GEMs but not sure. My first razor as a teen was an SE. I don't remember any prep beyond face wetting and brushing up some lather from a cheap shaving soap, and going at it. Seemed to do very well.

I have no doubt I will, at some point, turn back to my roots and try an SE again.

Try and get hold of a Ever Ready Sreamline. Great razor.

The only SE I recall my father using was an Injector in the early 70's, but he had a long life before me, so God only knows. Being a WWII veteran, I am sure that he had shaved with anything from a lid from a C-RAT can to an Astra before his death.

I just love the effortless BBS I can achieve while using these types of razors.

Good luck. One piece that I found absolutely stunning was the Wilkinson Sword seven day set. Art right there. With all the gears and head design. A little unwieldy but if you manage to find one in excellent to NM it worth it as a looker & user.
oh & a Valet for sure. I mean gears on a razor! What's not to like about that. Harhar.

Looks like the wild hunting grounds of the Midwest will be a bit safer for innocent DE razors, may the SE exodus thrive

Single edge razors scare the heck out of me man, they look sinister devices used to perform turn of the century illegal medical proceedures

some say the streamline is aggressive, but i'd say from my usage it's more like the clogpruf, than the ocmm

I used a Streamline this morning and it feels identical to a 1912 Damaskeene.

    Another "must have" is a 1914 Ever-Ready.

Just shaved my first time with a SE today - mint condition Star 1912. Very nice shave indeed! I have an OCMM, Clog Pruf and G-Bar on the way. Looking for a few more to round things out.

I have picked up a few in my searches, but don't really care for them. I have a Featherweight, G-Bar, Contour, and a gold Push Button. Are any of these must-trys?
