What's new

Let's see your auto pistols.

Here are my two favorites at the moment;

Here is my Rock Island Colt 1911 clone. Not fancy, but it works well for me. Sometimes I shoot it with a WWII rig.

Incredible to think that John Moses Browning was so advanced that we are still shooting his design over 100 years after it was invented.

Wow, there are a lot of really nice pistols in this thread. I aspire to own a 1911 some day, but that won't be for quite a while. What I do have though is now falling into the realm of heirloom piece. This Nomad is the first gun I ever fired, as well as the first one my eldest has ever fired. My Dad purchased it in the '70's for $50.00. It's a fun one to shoot, but I need to be careful not to put too many rounds through it so it can continue to be passed down.

It's late, and I don't want to go digging guns out to take pictures, so here's a picture I already had handy. This is by no means my whole collection. I've got plenty more I'd love to show you guys, on a day when I have more ambition.

My West German collection. P1, P5, P6, and P7. I have a P99 too, but that's just German.

its awesome seeing so many 1911's. it seems like most people are only interested in the latest and greatest plastic guns. its nice to see people still have love for a classic....not that there is anything wrong with glocks/XD's/M&P's.

This came into a gun shop I was working at 20 or so years ago that eventually went home with me.

Near as we could figure it was made in Belgium in 1942-43 . The caliber is 25 and it is as smooth as butter.

It is made in the Czech Republic, in Opotschno. My father brought one home from WWII, but he got rid of it in the 60's.
