Thread: AOS Sandalwood

    Default AOS Sandalwood

I am a big fan of AOS's sandalwood and love to layer. If you are in the same boat - this soap, "scent wise" is as close as I have found! I haven't used it yet, but the ingredients list is very promising. Will report back tomorrow after my shower but again, the scent is similar. Props to my wife for finding it!!

Interesting. I may have to drive up to River Market some weekend. Is that shaving soap though? Their website doesn't show any.

Oh, just noticed you were talking about it for layering. Good to know.

Sorry if I didn't make that clear - yeah you should drive up... if only for the food lol. The vendors were real nice people my wife says. I wonder if they would make a shaving cream to go with it lol!

    WOW!

Ok I am not usually a soap guy. Heck I don't really even use shaving soaps, but I got excited about this soap for layering purposes. Today I used it for the first time and wow, maybe I'll become a soap guy.

If you are a scent whore like me, you'll be happy to have it in your den as it lightly scents it - fast forward though and I have to say that on your body its subtle and I don't think it'll linger for long.

What really got me was how "goopy" this stuff was! I immediately thought that I had to use this as a base on my next sandalwood shave - this stuff has glide!! Big time! But I have HARD water so I was kind of taken back as usually the "goopyer" it is, the harder it is to get off the body. Not this stuff. Washed off like a champ! Moreover it left me feeling very soft.

Never have I been this impressed over a soap! I recommend it! I guess it makes sense now that the freind that went with my wife drove all the way up from Wichita with only one thing on her list to get at the market - the soap lol!!

    Wow.

Thanks for this write up. The scent sounds amazing. They have fair prices too. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is not marketed as a shave soap... right? I went to their website but didn't see any specific mention of shaving soaps or products.

Nope - it's just regular soap. Sorry about any confusion. I just like to layer and this is about as close to AOS's sandalwood cream as it's gotten for me. I guess I should have posted in another forum but I know there are others here who like to layer as well. That said - I am sure in a pinch I could shave with this stuff if need be lol.

EDIT - Just to be clear - sorry again for any confusion - they don't sell any shaving soaps at all. Not that someone shouldn't put a bug in their ear lol : ).

No problem at all. It looks like quality soap and quality ingredients! That means a lot, especially supporting small business and artisan products. Intriguing indeed and I'd like to try it for the scent alone. I'll add it to my long list.
