Default Need suggestions for an Orange scent A/S & Colonge !!

I would appreciate any suggestions for Orange scented A/S and a Cologne. Love Citrus products but not to sweet. I like the heavier tart/alcohol side. I have reviewed some Orange scents in the review section but would like to hear your suggestions. I have a nice homemade Orange A/S made with Vodka. Very nice but doesn't last very long. That why I'm looking into something stronger and a cologne. I would like to know if there is a product I could add to my homemade brew to allow for a more long lasting scent. Thanks - Littlemax

Lucky Tiger has a nice orange/citrus scent, but it's absolutely not a cologne. The smell is gone about the same time it's dry on the face. (non-alcohol) Very nice conditioning, very effective, but doesn't leave a lingering scent more than a couple minutes.

You will probably find that most citrus scented products will give you a very short scent life, unfortunately. I love citrus too (more lemon & lime than orange) and just haven't been able to find a long lasting scent that I like

Brian; Thanks for your response. I also like Lemon/Lime and have recently made my own brew. "Thread Lemon Lime Aftershave Recipe" if your interested. Again like my Orange brew not very long lasting. I have recently been using Taylor of Old Bond Street #74 Victorian Lime Cologne and it is very nice and long lasting.

I'm on the same hunt as you. Please report back as to what you find.

I have the Royall Mandarin and it is just okay. Its very orangey but too sharp. I've cut it with Superior 70 bay rum down to around 20% and its much much better.

The Eau de Portugal by Pinaud is my go to aftershave most days, particularly when I want to use a cologne as it doenst stay around too long (unfortunately). Its perfect in fragrance but just not strong. I've been thinking about getting some bitter orange essential oil to add to it to give it a boost. Maybe some neroli or pettigrain too.

I've sampled some of the orangish colognes from Trumpers and Harris but havent been impressed. They dont smell right on my skin to me. Perhaps its the synthetics, I dunno.

Connaught Shaving has an "Iberia" spiced orange cologne that I wonder about. I expect its a house brand as it seems to be unique to them. I cant find any reviews or commentary on it.

I will get back with you when I discover something. I wonder about Obsession by Calvin Klien. It has Orange listed as part of it's scent

The Shave Den has an orange aftershave that I have been told was good, I haven't bought any yet, I am trying to go through some of my current juice before I buy any more.

For a relatively easy to get and inexpensive option, have you considered Pinaud's Eau de Portugal? It's sold as a hair tonic, but makes a good AS as well.

The scent is orange, but not a sweet orange--more like the scent of the rind. Like most citrus scents, though, the scent is fleeting. Still, for less than $10/bottle, it's not a major investment.

Royall Mandarin comes to mind. I've never tried it.

I love the Royall line of splashes including the Mandarin. This stuff has a serious orange kick and will last several hours.

Yardley Citrus and Wood has a great bitter orange opening, and its cheap ($8 at Marshalls). Transitions into an oakmoss/birch and then vetiver and sandalwood if you like those scents also.

Have you tried any sea buckthorn products? I find they have a very mandarin-like smell, very tart and fruity.
