What do you consider reasonable? T.J. Maxx and Marshalls seam to always have Polo or Nautica stuff for ~$20

I always had very good luck at both Lands End and LLBean, and both guarantee their products forever.

I had a Lands End polo that had the collar start losing some stitching after about 5-6 years. I called them on a whim, and they sent me a new one, no charge, with a handwritten letter of apology because they no longer offered the color of the original, but got as close as they could. That's fantastic service.

Also, if you have a JCPenney in your area, their St. John's Bay private label brand is high quality and very inexpensive. I've probably got 6-7 of those shirts right now, and they usually have them priced around $10 or so, in nearly every color or pattern imaginable. Worth a shot. You could pay more, but I've found no reason to.

    Cheers!

My favorite polos have to be Southern Tide. I don't know if that is in the price range you are looking for though. ~$60 a shirt but they are awesome IMO. They are not all cotton like polo brands they have a little bit of elasticity. I have big arms and broad shoulders, so having the extra "give" in those areas are always welcome to me.

I've heard of this policy and cannot see how it works from a business point of view. Do they expect their customers to decide not to take them up on this offer?

Looks pretty good even though I'm not a fan of logos. But I also hate it when the collar deforms. So how do the southern tide collar hold up?

Yup. That's exactly what they're planning with. Many people (most) simply won't.

The collars hold up great. The directions say to put them in the dryer for about 5 minutes after the wash then hang dry. Since it's not 100% cotton they don't take long at all. I will admit though that there have been some times I forgot to get them out. The collars are holding up great. Here is the one I've had the longest about a year and a half or maybe longer? Can't exactly remember, but for sure at least a year and a half. Here is the pic, yeah they have a logo, but it is pretty small and not getting ridiculous like some polo brands.

It has been washed many, many times. I'd say atleast twice a month, I own about 7 of them now, so rotate them when I do wear them. Anyways, good luck on your search!

Edit: Just to add this is straight from the closet since the last wash, and has not been ironed. I usually don't iron them they are a little wavy since they pretty much hung dry, but stretch out nicely once they have been worn for about 15 minutes or so. Have a bigger body, ex D linemen!

Patagonia makes really good ones, although $$$. Like LLBean and Land's End, they have lifetime guarantee and mean it.

For cheap, I've bought Hanes from their ebay outlet store for less than $15.00 delivered. For the price, they're not half bad.

The pima cotton ones at Lands End are pretty good, and drape well. I've only had them a few months, so don't know how they will hold up long term. Most of the other ones tend to be polyester or some such.

I just purchased some XL Tall ones (I'm 6'5" and hard to fit) on a whim from Sierra Trading Post. Pima cotton and $6.90 each. Some private label over-runs no doubt.
    They should show up Tuesday.

I usually buy LaCoste as they fit pretty well and I really like the picquet fabric best. I figured for 7 bucks I'd give these a look. It's so cheap that it doesn't make sense, so I have my fingers crossed. I can always send them back.

LLBean has the same policy. Anything you don't like you send back. I sent back a sweater I got 4 years ago. No problem.

Shirts arrived today. They are LLBean overruns. Obvious by the tags. Damn nice shirts for $7! They are $35 at LLBean. You just need the correct coupon to get the $7 price from SierraTradingPost.com. I was disappointed in the green one, colors not as depicted. Black, Blue, Lavendar, Pink all great.

Polo shirts come in many different styles ... the baggy, longer-sleeved versions (long enough to be tucked into your pleated pants) seem much more common than the slim-fit versions that you ought to leave untucked.

If you seek the latter type, Ben Sherman and Original Penguin are two brands that have served me well, both of which may pop up on Sierra Trading Post.
Be there or be square. Only I can do both!
I've got a cat named Beefeater and a dog named Beefeater, and two goldfish called Beefeater and Beefeater. There's Beefeater my hamster and Beefeater my horse, and my piglet, known as Beefeater of course.

Not the cheapest but by far the best quality I have owned (and I have tons of polo shirts).

I have a few Lacoste polos. I never put them in the dryer and they last for years.
