Made Rite 100 reknot: pix and some questions.

Bought a Made Rite 100 bristle brush and used it a couple of times, but it was pretty worn out. Here is how it looked:



Here's the bottom:



Cut the bristles down as low as I could:



Taped it up, wrapped a shop towel around it, and put it in a drill press vise:



Drilled a bunch of holes in the remaining knot:
