Default Ever-Ready 200T and question: What's the largest knot you've crammed in tiny handle?

I just restored an Ever-Ready 200T with a 22mm Silvertip from Whipped Dog. Turns out that this particular handle takes a 20mm max. I ended up having to dremel a huge chunk of the opening out to fit the 22mm.

    (album of the 200T)

What's the largest knot you've managed to get into a smaller handle?

I've seen examples of a 24mm knot jammed into those Ever-Ready handles...and if I recall correctly, there may have been at least one that was bigger than that. After a while, you reach a point where the proportions are out-of-kilter and they really don't look good.

I could see that. I'm working on a brush for my brother-in-law; I originally thought that a 22mm would fit with some minor adjustments. After look at it side-by-side with the 22mm I realized it just wouldn't work.

I'm happy with the 20mm silvertip knot I put in my acrylic 200 about a month ago. You really don't need more but I am sure you could go to 24 without too big of a problem.

I put a TGN 28mm Silvertip in a 200T. Works great. The other has a 24mm TGN bristle.

Lordy those are huge. However, I really like the lines of the brush on the right... is that the 24mm TGN bristle?

28mm is the most i've seen from the gentleman above. My handle can currently hold a 22mm.

24mm seems like a good knot size for me, so that's what I usually try to put in vintage handles. Going from 20mm to 24mm (or 24mm to 28mm) shouldn't be that big of a deal -- I usually drill out my handles rather than using a Dremel, but it doesn't seem as though the drill is removing that much material. If my math is correct, a 4mm increase in the opening is a bit less than 3/16".

Yeah but it is only 2mm per side and it doesn't equate to that much or and enlargement.
