My EDC is a Caly 3.5 and the wire clip is a nice feature. As it is at the very end of the knife, it can be clipped very discretely.

I really like them. Yes, they are discreet. But I also seem to have fewer issues with them if I bump up against something (think car paint finish)
I'm sure it could be done more "professionally" but this way works. It's cheap and it's easy.... Usually takes me about 5 min using only a Dremel and channel locks, and I have no skills whatsoever
I've converted a few but never met anyone whose already been "assimilated"

Have any of you "knife guys" ever heard of Tom Cute? I have a knife which was given to me that I think is an excellent tool, and the only markings on the blade are "Tom Cute Maker"
Woo hoo! Pre-ordered a Paramilitary 2 in S35VN and Brown G10 scales back in April and was notified that it shipped today!
Funny, I e-mailed the vendor yesterday and asked when my pre-order would become an actual order since they claimed they'd have the next batch in June. The rep told me it'd be another two weeks, then came home to find out it's on the way to my house today .
Also have a Hiromoto AS 240mm Gyuto on the way. If they arrive on the same day, it'll be a new definition of "Christmas in July". BTW, Ken, the chef's knife is in Aogami Super, too.![]()

It took 45 years for me to realize why my dad used to EDC a knife. It's just so useful and utilitarian. Now I have a knife acquisition disorder: the tiny SAK that I've had forever but never really carried; Buck scholar (which I got after my realization a couple years ago); Spyderco Dragonfly 2, which is my EDC; Spyderco Manix 2 Lightweight; and Benchmade Mini-Grip, which is in transit from Amazon right now.
The Manix 2 is awesome, especially the color, but it's not really something that I would lug around everyday. Maybe it's because I'm such a knife knoob, but the Manix 2 seems HUGE to me.

Cool, that should be a WONDERFUL addition to the kitchen. Congrats on both!
Exactly!
It's not a small knife but over the years I've found my needs (and tastes) change, pretty drastically. Currently I'm in a 3-3 1/2" range phaseSmaller knives like a Dragonfly are great and do most anything I need but the handles don't work as well with my BIG hands. The Manix 2 fits my hand as well as I could want. Just picked one up in CPM-M4 and I've been working to thin out the edge since it arrived. No easy task. That stuff is TOUGH! 10 hours on DMTs and it's just getting to where I want it.

^ yeah, I'm thinking that the Mini-Grip might be a good in-between size for an EDC. The Delica 4 in ZDP-189 steel is on my Amazon wish list, but I need to control my spending, lol. That may have to wait until my birthday or Christmas. Thankfully, my birthday is next month so I won't have to wait very long.
From my smallest to my largest, I enjoy all my Chris Reeve knives.

Once in Africa I lost the corkscrew and we were forced to live off food and water for weeks." -Ernest Hemingway
I've been EDC'ing the same large Sebenza since 1998. After 14 years and a lot of abuse, it still looks outstanding, takes a superb edge and feels like a bank vault when the lock engages. I paid $349 (or $325, can't remember what the price was back then) but at about $25/yr so far, if the thing fell apart tomorrow I'd still think I got my money's worth and buy another the same day. Barring no weird mishaps, I'm sure it'll be in similar condition in another 14 years.
Yeah, it's expensive and yes, there are a ton of less expensive, top quality knives, but for my money and how long the suckers last, I doubt you'll regret spending the $. I know I don't.
