Semogue 1438 | Merkur 1904 w/ Red IP | Proraso Crema Pre E Dopo Barba | RazoRock AL Chianti Lavender SS |
Al Raz's ASB Custom "El Tangerino"

Hello everyone! These were all great combos but I think the blade was a bit dull. So I ended having some razor burn but nothing alarming where it felt like fire. Oh well, face lathering with Semogue 1438 is quite a pleasure and has the exfoliating properties for a shaving brush. I hope you have a great day!

    The Veg

I put off trying the Veg until the very last day of the week because quite honestly, I don't like the way it smells in the bottle. All the comments of "cat piss" have made me think "cat piss" when I smell the Veg even though I have never actually smelled cat piss. Anyways the shave was awesome as always but the real reason I shaved this morning was for the Veg.
As I slapped it on my face, the burn was more intense than I thought it would be but not terrible. Might have been the new Med Prep. Anyways, After the initial "holy crap this scent is strong whatever it is" I realized that I smelled flowers. It was an awesome feeling having closure that, yes in fact, I could use the Veg from time to time and not be hating myself for using it.
    Very fun shave today.
    Happy Friday Gents!

Prep: Proraso pre-shave w/cool water splashes
Razor: 1957 (C4 - my birth razor) ball-end Gillette Tech
Blade: Gillette 7 O'clock Russian yellow
Brush: VDH pure badger from Target
Cream: C. O. Bigelow (just one more shave left in the tube)
    Aftershave: Proraso AS splash
    Cologne: None

After reading the "Tech Tuesday" thread, I decided to pull out one of my Techs for a while and get to know it again. I still like my Muhle R89 better, but the Tech is a fine razor, and it gave me a very fine shave, indeed!

    Thanks for reading!

Today another item premiered in my shave den: the Vitos soap which came as an add-on to my Tech this week.

    - face prep: Mehmet Aydin soap
    - Vitos soap, hjm badger
    - early 60s aluminum Gillette Tech, Feather@3
    - Mennen Skin Bracer

To me the Vitos' scent is between the moderate Cella and the more intense Figaro. This fellow is quite thirsty, I had to add a lot more water than with any other soap I used before. Even though I used a generous amount to start with, I had to add more to the brush before each single pass.
The lather is, as with similar soft soaps from Italy, rich, slick and works perfectly fine.

Todays shave was with my newest restore, my Clauss with covered tang. My favorite Scent is OBR sandalwood combined with a touch of Stetson EdT. Great combination. The Gem was a gift, and I used it to clean up the stragglers today for the first time. It is a wonderful gentle shaver that gets really close. It was as close to BBS as I will ever get I feel. A beautiful day, a beautiful shave with beautiful razor. It doesn't get any better than this gents.!

    Have a great weekend!
