Default My take on the Mappin Lancet, dressed in Ivory

A while back I was contacted with a request to make a Mappin Lancet but change it up a little.
I thought it would be pretty cool! So even though it took longer then it should have and I donated a good bit of steel to the junk pile... her she is..
7/8, the frame is 01 tool steel and the blade is a low layer pattern welded steel.
The scales are ivory with silver pins. To keep thing looking somewhat old, I used a lead wedge.
Soon to be packed up and headed out.

Man... that is awesome. I am really digging these re-imagined versions of hard to find razors. Have you considered doing a Japanese style super smile razor, Brian?

I tried a MMOC once. I've sinced switched to straight razor shaving because it was less dangerous.

Well, I'm the lucky owner of this beautiful new razor. I approached Brian before Christmas last year about making a modern version of the Mappin Lancet Edge. He was in the process of some experimentation regarding thin Damascus blades at the time so after some discussion, we decided to go with that. For me, the defining element of a Lancet Edge is the bulbous nose. I think that Brian has captured this perfectly. I was able to get some pre ban ivory off a member of another forum so we decided to go with that for the scales. Lastly, the we copied the original lead wedge to give it a more authentic feel.
Brian is an absolute pleasure to deal with. His attention to detail and willingness to experiment makes having a custom razor made a very easy process. The finished product far exceeded my expectations and it's better than the image I had in my mind of what it would look like. I can't wait to get in my hand and actually feel it and shave with it.

Thanks for the nice words everyone. If was a fun and interesting build...lol. It took a good bit of playing around (ie: wasted steel...lol) to get everything worked out but I think it was worth it.
