    Flagstaff, Arizona (7000 feet in the pines)

    50
    What are you in the real world?
    Training Manager for a company which makes wind turbines
    What is your favorite shave setup?
    For DE shaves, vintage comb razors. For straights, which are my main shave now, almost any full hollow grind spike/square point. I like the stink of Arko, but have moved more to other sticks like LaToja. Not so thrilled with most creams I've tried. And, I'm loving the orange Floid my buddy sent me to try out.
    What are your hobbies and favorite activities?
    Almost anything outdoors. I am fortunate to live in a place with lots of outdoors opportunities. I also get to be outdoors and do some tower climbing for work. I'm about a hour and 20 minutes from the Grand Canyon, so on my 50th birthday my wife and I did a one day rim-to-rim hike to celebrate. I feel truly fortunate to live in a place where that's possible.
    What else should the members of B&B know about you?
    My oldest son is in the Air Force, but I've got a four year old daughter. So, I'll be working for a while! I guess you'll just have to read my posts to learn more... :-) Without sounding too gratuitous, I will say that I'm really impressed with the decency of the members here on B&B.

    Welcome to the HoF, Ross. Just came back from a trip from AZ. While there we visited Flagstaff and the day after we left you guys had snow!

    Yes, that can surprise folks - what, snow in Arizona?? Well, snow days are built into the school calendar here as it's a regular occurrence. And the roads/freeways are sometimes not passable and get closed as well after winter storms. My house doesn't even have an air conditioner, as with most other homes here. All of Arizona is not desert and cowboys.

    Your comment, though, reminded me of something I should have put in my post. If any of you are going to be in Flagstaff, feel free to PM me for local information. Whether it's where to find outdoors stuff (like the old bomber crash site, or the lava river cave, or the blown-out lava dome), or the best local restaurants/bars, or a tour of our factory. We're a smallish community of 60,000 and it's a popular tourist destination filled with an eclectic mix of overwhelmingly positive people.

    Good job on the rim to rim. I haven't done it yet but I know what it entails.

    Flagstaff is a beautiful place and a nice escape from Phoenix.
