Knize Shave Soap

Nick and a couple of other members were asking recently about this soap. I have a puck and I enjoy the scent, but since joining the Gold Method 3017 train it has been largely neglected. At the moment, I am involved in another edition of the Brush Chronicles which means that I am using one brush only for a couple of weeks and rotating my soaps and creams.

I found that the soap did a very good job and for a veg soap, it provided good lather. There are more photos in this thread and I am more than happy to answer questions should you have any. Looks as if I should shave with this soap again next week before the Chronicles come to an end.

I 've been following the M&F chronicles and was glad to see you choose this soap. I was considering asking you what you thought of it. Now you've saved me the trouble

The chronicle has been a pleasure to read, and I, as I'm sure many others, appreciate your thoughts on both the Knize soap and the M&F brushes.

How do you like Knize sec? Knize 10 alone is pretty hard to come by in the US. I've never sampled the other variations except for the Golden Edition. I know there are some reviews out there, but do you find it pairs with the soap rather well?

as you know, I am a fan of tallow soaps. MWF, DR Harris, C&S, Palmolive, Tabac etc are my favourites. This one performed well this morning but I would need to shave with it a few days in a row to get a proper feeling for how it leaves my skin.

I love Knize Ten. I love Knize Sec. Quite a while back I heard them described as "Ten"- the scent that the Viennese gentleman wears off to work in bad weather. "Sec"- the scent that the Viennese gentlemen wears when he goes out in the evening in bad weather. I have also been lucky enough to have tried Knize Two and Knize Forest...... neither of which set me on fire.

As far as "Sec" pairing with the soap is concerned- 10 minutes after shaving, the scent of the soap has been overtaken by AS and cologne. They do work together although it is not that important to me these days.

Very good questions Vlad. I recall seeing it online from a german website, but the name escapes me at the moment.

I know Colonial Drug and Pasteurs carries it. Being on the West Coast, however, this does me little good.
