Hilarious story from today

When I am expecting a fragrance package from UPS or FedEx, I put a note on door the night before expected delivery saying "ok to leave at door without signature" and sign it. Sometimes there isn't a place on the online order to specify this request. I live in an apartment so normally they don't leave it at door without signature. I hate waiting for a frag, and day it arrives there's that annoying sign left that "were were here to deliver package and you weren't here, will try again tomr". One extra day of anticipation (I'm like this with everything not just frags...).

Today I happen to be home when UPS guy knocked on door (RIVE GAUCHE arrived!). I actually forgot it was coming today, but fortunately was home. Greet UPS man, he hands me package, and tells me about a service where you can go on UPS for free....get a text day before delivery...and sign it saying ok to leave at door (cool feature that I will be using, and appreciate him telling me). So UPS guy kindly follows with "so tell your wife that when she gets these packages she doesn't have to write these notes and can just go to the website....it'll be much easier". I have a big smile on my face...and say "I'll be sure to tell her".

Of course, all those UPS packages over the last 6-8 months from Sephora, Beauty Encounter, Scent Bar / Lucky Scent, Chanel.com, are fragrances for ME!!!!!!!!!! LOL. SWMBO got a good laugh out of the story too.

He prob thinks my wife is high maintenance...always buying stuff from Saks (Kilian ATOH), Neiman Marcus (my Creeds and Kurkdjians), Barney's (Malle and Lutens), Chanel (my Egoiste and Sycomore).

Next time that guy comes open the door wearing only a hot pink calypso shirt and a lot of Le Male, and say: Mr. Postman my wife is out. Wait Mr. Postman! Wait! Wait! Wait! Deliver the letter, the sooner the better! Wait!!!

Years ago I signed up with UPS to have them check my house every day for a package pickup. I think they charged my $2.75/week to do this. I signed a card at the time that stated I did not need a signature to receive a package.

I would put a white label on a post to tell the driver that I did have a package so he wouldn't have to stop unnecessarily.

I discontinued that service, but the card stayed in force. I haven't had to sign for many years.
