Default FS: Vie Long BGS2012 NATURAL Horsehair

I bought this brush and the Silvertip version from BGS. Now that I have the Silvertip I don't see this one getting that much use simply because it has some scritch to it and I'm a silvertip kinda guy.

If you can tolerate some scritch, I think you will find this to be an excellent brush with great backbone and a lovely handle that stacks up against many boar and badger brushes.

The brush has only been shaved with twice and been through a few test lathers. It comes with a plastic box and a drip stand.

This model is now sold at BGS, and I paid $48 for it.

I'd like to get $40 shipped for it, which will include CONUS shipping and delivery confirmation. Payment must be be a verfied paypal user using "instant" paypal...no e-checks or anything like that. For convenience's sake, this is going to be CONUS only.

I have two Vie-Longs coming my way, but this is a nice looking brush.

I hate to be that guy, but you do realize the only difference shipping to Canada compared to the US is that you might pay an extra dollar or two, and you write CANADA underneath the address, right? I don't get the ConUS thing.

There's no tracking capability once the package leaves the US, so there's no protection for the buyer or seller if there's an issue.

Time to squash a misconception, I suppose. You can track it once it enters Canada, with the same number, using Canada Post's website. Just letting everyone know :D

Interesting. I was told that by a USPS worker when I asked about getting a tracking number for a package going to Canada.

Paypal makes it extremely easy, and I get not wanting to go through too much trouble, many people can print from Paypal and just drop off the packages. They already have to go through a bit of work to package and send, I think they just don't want the hassle of sending it out there. I know myself that it probably isn't "dangerous" or anything, but having never shipped international myself, I would be hesitant to try it out...

I don't know how paypal will deal with a dispute between the Canadian Post Office and the shipper either, so that's something else to think about. Tracking is one thing, but delivery confirmation (that's through the USPS does Canada have one?) is pretty important seeing as how sellers basically rely on that confirmation on their end.

Guys, this thread is about cvac selling a fantastic LE Horsehair brush at a great price. Take the Canadian shipping discussion elsewhere. You all know better.

Someone asked about brush specs, so here they are, straight from BGS:

    Approximate Dimensions:

    Knot Diameter: 25mm

    Loft: 55mm

    Handle Height: 55mm

    Overall Height 110mm

Hair: Vie-Long Natural Horse (35% mane hair and 65% tail hair)

    Product of Spain

Note that the brush loft is a little higher than the Silvertip model. This is not a floppy brush. IIRC Horsehair brushes are set with a slightly higher loft for the same reasons that boar brushes are made that way.

As for Canadian shipping, my local post office is a nightmare so I'm not going to send out anything that involves a transaction outside of CONUS. By keeping it CONUS, I keep things simple. You pay for the brush, I ship it out, and you get it a few days later, and Delivery Confirmation protects me as a non-professional seller. If you are Canadian, and really want this brush, and really want to shell out for an expensive tracked courier service or something, send me a PM. But, there is no way I'm shipping this via USPS to Canada. Sorry.

I have shipped to Canada a few times, it's not too big of a hassle, just a short custom form to fill up, takes about 5 minutes.
