Default Tabac AS I'm a believer

I have exclusively used Lagerfeld AS for about the last 15 years, as it became my go to AS. But, along with my new wetshaving obsession in aquiring soaps, I discovered Tabac, and just love the stuff. Well, to complete the Tabac experience, I received my first bottle of Tabac AS a couple of days ago, and I have to say that I love this stuff too. I love the scent, I love the way it feels, and I love how it stays with you for quite a while, and still not be overbearing. I don't understand why so many have complained about the scent. Oh, and my GF loves it too.

It is nice, isn't it? One of my favorites, especially in cooler weather.

I find the AS splash, the EdC (not the EdT) and the shaving soap complement each other well.

    Enjoy!

I'm glad to hear someone else say this! My wife loves the scent of this stuff. I'm using the EdC now and have the AS splash as a back up. Of course, I'm using a puck of the soap, too.
The AS seems milder than the EdC.

My lady gives Tabac soap 2nd best smell in my lineup (behind AOS Sandalwood). So does the AS smell just like the soap, or is it complimentary?
I could probably load Tabac on a Q-tip and still get a decent lather

To my untrained nose, the EdC is stronger and the AS a little weaker, but the scent is the same as the soap.
By the way, I am a teacher and we had a exchange student from Moldova stay with us for awhile. She smelled my Tabac and said it smelled like her grandfather. Thus my signature.
So, I'm guessing Tabac must be an old fashioned European scent, like Old Spice is here in the states.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, it's a good German product, must have made it's rounds all over Europe. I now can rest assured that I know without doubt what a Moldovan grandfather smells like, and share his scent.

I find all the products complement each other. Man, you guys need to try the whole package -- hair cream, deo stick, bath soap, and yes, the EdT which packs an extra punch!

AS is always milder than EDC which is milder than EDT which is milder than perfume. I think that's how it works. By the way, I even like the little spout delivery system that Tabac has on its bottles. You can't accidently pour it all over the place.

That last part might be the single most important factor for AS selection!

You also can't beat the size of the bottle. It will last as long as a puck of Tabac.

I did not realize there were other Tabac products besides the EdT, AS, and shave soap. Now I have to get some!

It smells like my mother-in-law (Hallo Omi!).

Bottle looks nice in the bathroom, though.

I love the soap but couldn't get along with the AS. There was a subtle difference that somehow put me off.

I prefer the Aftershave which is a bit spicier/more peppery than the EDC which is nice as well. The EDT is too flowery/powdery compared to the others for my taste, I also like the ASB during the Winter though some find it too oily/greasy, I use just a small dab for extra moisturizing.

I like Tabac most of the time. I have the soap, AS, cologne, and hair cream. I've gone back and forth on the idea of the deodorant too just so I can have the "whole experience" on days when the fancy strikes. But sometimes, I have to admit that I wish the overall fragrance was just a tad more woodier/spicier. Sometimes all I get is the oiliness of that central carnation note and it puts me off. Other times, I get mostly the woody base combined with fresh lavender and I love it. But because it has so much character, as odd as it may sound, I'm never completely in love with it and I go weeks without wearing it.

The same here but reversed. I love the AS (in autumn mostly) but have a love/hate relationship with the soap. I really like the Tabac ASB too btw.

Only have the AS. I bought it last summer in a pharmacy whilst on Holiday on Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. Its a big German tourist destination and I recall a vast number of different Tabac products were available.

I use the soap, splash and cologne. Scent aside, which the wify and I both like very much, I find the A/S splash to comfort better than any other A/S I have. I don't know why. It must be something in the ingredients. If I have a rough shave for any reason, I grab for the splash and it makes my skin feel like I didn't even shave.
