Best Razor Polish

I understand that polish is heavily variable according to market availability across countries. Though my favourite is something that most straight shavers should have at hand.... I got a 100 gram bottle of chromium oxyde over ebay. It will last for ages just to make my own felt strops.
When I am about to finish a razor, I sit to dip a spoon tip of the green powder and mix it with a few drops of olive oil (any other oil may do....). I apply it with my finger. If the blade is already a bit sharp it may be dangerous. I use then a bottle cork. When I notice that green is turning grayish I feel that enough steel has been leveled. I then swipe the blade with kitchen paper and I load my finger with another dip of the green dyed oil.
Hope it makes sense to you.
It outperforms Spanish popular metal polish Sidol. I cannot compare with other things, sorry.
