    Default Love qcs Vostok but...

I thought I would finish my sample of Vostok bc I now have a puck so I pressed the last bit into my bowl and lathered away... Beautiful lather... Soft cushiony...

The thing I don't like so much Is the DEEP DEEP freeze...I like the freeze but this is extreme.. I deal with it because I like the scent and the lather... But it's been over an hour and my face still feels a little numb... Also on my Gillette open comb new the razor blade sticks out the end and I cut myself pretty badly... I didn't even feel it.. I'm used to a lot of skin/razor feedback but with this soap there is none... Just facial numbness...

All in all great soap... One of my tops in the 20+ soaps but just a little put off because my face is still numb!
I'm down with BOTOC... (Yeah u know me)

i tried a sample from a buddy and when i use it, after i'm done shaving, walking thru the house, my face is cold, freezing cold and my eyes are watering.

i can barely get thru a full shave without my eyes watering and tearing up from the freezing effect.

excellent performance, but it's too powerful for me.

I have got to get some of this. Proraso + Skin bracer just isnt cold enough.

Yes, it is like sticking your face in a snow drift, but I appreciated the heck out of it last summer and will again this summer. The cooling effect is great for my customary noontime shave.

I have a sample of "Prospect Creek" from Mystic Waters. It's not as cold as you're describing, but still nicely chilly.

I love the QCS Vostok, but it is a summer soap for sure, IMO! Soooooooo cold. I shower after I shave (I know, I know), but after shaving with Vostok and then showering and washing my face, I still feel the awesome cold tingle of the Vostok for about half an hour afterwords.

The Mama Bear Awakening is pretty darn cold too, if the Vostok is just a bit too much.

Just to add a bit of fuel to the fire, Vostok is on sale now at QCS:

It really is all James' fault.

(Okay, maybe Owen had something to do with it as well.

To the OP: You should email Matt @ QCS & ask him to make a less-cold version. He does custom stuff all the time. I'm sure he'd happily oblige.
