Put on your Carmen Sandiego hats: Geo F Trumper in the Los Angeles area?

So I've heard a lot of good things about Geo F Trumper's Eucris, but the scent has some controversy - it seems to be a love it / hate it scent - and I would like to try before I buy. I know there are several online retailers who will send me tiny vials of all the GFT scents but I'm a brick-and-mortar kind of guy.

Only problem is it's turning out to be really difficult to find a B-and-M shop that stocks Trumper in the LA area. The only one I've been able to turn up is the Shaver Shop in Torrance and they only have three or four of their colognes, Eucris not among them. I've tried the obvious mass-Googling route (e.g. 'Geo F Trumper Los Angeles') to no avail. The Carmel Drug Store in Carmel by Monterey Bay would work, except for the fact that it's a six hour drive away.

So please, if you have: A an opinion on Eucris, B a better way to formulate Google searches than I, or C direct knowledge of a shop that stocks Trumper in LA, I ask you to reply with what you've got!

Eucris was my first soap. I absolutely love it! It is a very classical gentleman scent, to me. Lot of musk scent, lot of peppery accents. It's a very complex scent. I have both the soap and the cologne. For the amount of money that it is, I would recommend getting a sample. There is an individual who sells samples, but I can't find his info for the life of me. I just checked in the wiki, and the article of supporting vendors is unavailable right now.

Some good leads! The Shave for some reason says they are currently out of Trumper stock. Brighton Shave Co. is one of those places where when you call you have to leave a message, but their web site says they stock a wide array of GFT stuff so here's hoping they get back to me!

Samplewise, Barclay Crocker has samples of the full line at a reasonable price. Everything about Eucris appeals to me except the moss that folks keep talking about; moss and I have a troubled relationship.

Ha. Indeed, there's a small perfume store on Westwood Boulevard called Perfumes West. They had Trumpers in stock last time I was there, BUT I don't recall seeing Eucris. Brighton Shave as referenced may also have it.

Work the phone before you go and ensure they have it in stock.

Lucky Scent does not carry Trumpers.

Also, West Coast Shaving is located in Chino Hills, but I don't know if they run a brick and mortar store at that location or just a warehouse for online shipping.

There's also OU Beauty in Glendale.

Not only do they carry Eucris, but they also have the best wet shaving supply in the greater LA area. Matt, the manager, even came out to our B&B meet up. Great guy.

I've had luck emailing GFT (contact email from their website) and told them my situation, and specifically asked for some samples (I asked for Eucris and Wild Fern). To my delight, they mailed them to me gratis.

And Eucris is probably my favorite fragrance. To me, it is how the library in Dracula's castle would smell, after he had been slumbering for hundreds of years.

Went to The Brighton Shave in Beverly Hills last Friday and picked up my Eucris. I have to say that the place has come down a bit on the 'manliness' factor lately - they pulled out the pool table from the second floor and put in a spa. Not a Playboy or a Maxim in sight. Ended up just getting the Eucris and going over to Baxter Finley for a right proper treatment.

Fair Oaks Cigar and OU Beauty are now on my list of shops to visit. Thanks for all of the tips guys, I really appreciate it!

I was sent a sample of the Eucris Body wash and i enjoy it, however I haven't purchased it for retail yet.
