Just had the best shave of my life with Arko, Astra SP, and my new Gillette Old Type OC (courtesy of JonM). It actually redefined BBS for me.

There is something so luxurious about rubbing my warm brush on my face and watching the lather explode. I went for a fourth pass instead of my usual three, and I was still sad when the shave was over. There was still plenty of lather in my brush, but nothing else to shave.

I am completely smitten with Arko. I even enjoy the smell. I wish I would have picked some up sooner.

I'm glad you love the old type! That razor and a nice soft soap like Arko is a match made in shaving heaven. Then again, I'm not telling you anything you don't know now.

Thanks, cryhavoc. I used it again today with a Semogue long boar and the Slant and it was fantastic. I'm definitely in the cult, even more than the Proraso or Cella ones! ;)

Arko replaced Proraso cream as my favourite soap/cream. I can't believe I paid $1.38 per stick for this stuff. It would still be a bargain at $10 a stick. The stick that I opened has been used five or six times now and I can't even tell that any is missing, and I definitely use a decent amount with each shave. What kind of black magic is this?!

The other day, I merely looked at the stick of Arko which had been sitting quietly in the cabinet and it lathered.

I recently order a tube of Arko Maximum Comfort shave cream. We'll see how it does.

Arko last like crazy I mashed 2 sticks into a Anchor Hocking 3 inch glass storage bowl and I have not even made a dent in it. I thinking about taking a stick and using it in the shower since it lathers so good and smells great.

Just unwrapped a fresh stick and smashed it into my bowl. Ahhh.....I love the smell of a fresh stick of Arko. I'm thinking of smashing in a half stick at a time to help preserve the scent

Hello gents, joining the cult here what is your hazing rituals? I tried it for the first time this morning and I do admit, after reading all these stories of how rancid it is Arko has a very delightful scent. I do not know what to compare it to, similar to the cheap soap you would get at a hotel room in the late 80's and 90's. Clean yet simple?
So Duffy, have any theories to go with that tie?

I quite enjoy the smell. I was expecting it to be a lot worse after reading the reviews for it. It's a very clean and simple smell that goes well with my shaving routine.

Do I enjoy the scents of other creams and soaps more? Certainly, but Arko smells good enough for me and you simply can't beat its performance. I have dreams at night about that rich cushion of lather.

I'm hooked on my stick. I just don't seem to be picking up anything else at the moment.

I got my first stick a couple of days ago and plan to use it for the rest of the month. If I'm still enjoying it by the end of the month, you can add me to the growing list of Arko Apostles.

Cheap laundry soap...that's exactly what it smells like at first...but boy the stuff works!
I think you’ll find it’s a bit more complicated than that...

I shaved my head with Arko just now. Not sure if it was using a Schick Extreme 3 razor, or the Arko, but was the smoothest head shave I've had in quite a while. I've often struggled with too thin of a lather, but I had to keep adding water to this stuff, because it was SO thick. Definitely need some more experience with it, but it's definitely staying in my rotation.

For my third and fourth pass, I add a splash of hot water to my brush. It makes it explode with lather all over again. I absolutely love Arko. Very slick cushion of protective, endless lather. I do four passes when I shave, but there's enough Arko in my brush for at least six passes. It's been over a week since I've used anything else.

I got a stick in this week but was experimenting with blades so I put it on the shelf after taking a whiff and noticing that I liked the scent. I did a little test face lather tonight just to futz around with something as I await some samples coming in. I have never A- used a soap besides Williams and VDH (Which made me turn to creams years ago). I have also never face lathered with anything. I used a Sem. 620 that is not terribly broken in.

I humbly lay down future offerings of cut short whiskers on the altar of the cult.

GREAT STUFF. No surprise to you devotees. Cheers!

I used to use Williams and tried VDH, but once I got into ARKO, after trying several others including the much talked about Mitchell's Woolfat, I stayed with ARKO. Now I buy them on Amazon in boxes of 12. I don't face lather, I prefer lathering in a bowl with an Omega 80080 Beehive brush. Best soap for the money and perhaps simply the best all-round shave soap. Enjoy your ARKO--I really like the fragrance, even found an aftershave that pretty much matches ARKO: Duru Limon--it's very subtle and wears off after a while, as simple as it gets.

Just received the cream in the mail. The smell reminds me of lemon Pledge. I hand lathered some tonight and it lathers up like the stick.

Haven't used Arko soap in several years but just ordered a stick. I recall thinking it was a bit drying, but figured I'd give it another chance. My wife used Arko as a bath soap. We both like the scent, likeIvory soap on steroids.
