Default FS Last Chance: Brand New 2006 B&B Ebony Finest Silvertip Brush, New in Box

If you are the kind of person who just doesn't like to buy used brushes...(and you know who you are) then this is perhaps a last chance to get a 2006 B&B Limited Edition Finest Silvertip brush. These were custom made by the famous English brush maker, Edwin Jagger.

I've hoarded this long enough. It's about to go to Ebay, but I thought I see if anyone on this board wanted first dibs. This has never been used, and is brand new in the original shipping box. It's a lovely brush, and I use one just like it on a almost daily basis, and it's been one of the favorite brushes in my rotation.

I will also be glad to throw in some goodies such as Proraso Soap, Arko Cream, and maybe even a few Derby blades.

I'm asking $130 shipped CONUS, which is about what I paid for it. I've also got it up at SMF, so act fast if you want it.

PM me if you are interested in purchasing this lovely brush.

    Thanks for looking.

They were made by Edwin Jagger, and sold by the English Shaving Company. See here for an equivalent brush which costs over $200:

They are more densely packed than the $200 brush and some say they were more in the $350 range quality.

Do a search on B&B for the 2006 B&B brush. Some interesting threads. I love mine. Review is Here.

Not to my knowledge. Quite a few people put a lot of work on the project and we would sure like to see it kept in the family.

    +1

Incidentally I think someone would have a tougher time getting the same price on Ebay as the brushes command here at home on the forums. Folks here have read all the threads and know about the brush's history, the effort that went into it, etc. Also there is a lot of trust in regards to B&B members selling each other items - compared to buying from an unknown seller off the Bay. A B&B'er will pay good money for a B&B brush from someone they commune with regularly in the forums. Some random dude on Ebay would look at a B&B brush and say B&B what? Thats my guess anyway. Hopefully that theory never gets tested.
    Cheers, Dave

This is a limited edition, exclusive Badger and Blade product and has no business being on Ebay.

Like I said, I'd rather sell to someone here, but Ebay is always an option, or SMF, or ShaveDen, etc.

This offering has PM inquiries on both this forum and SMF so it appears it will stay in "The family". Android and I have done business before on the BST forum> He is a gentleman of high regard and I know he will be happy to not have to resort to ebay to get this one sold.

All of us were upset. Limited Edition group buy items are sold exclusively for B&B members and have no business being on Ebay, period. Personally, I'm fine with selling it at SMF, but no item like this should be on Ebay for any reason whatsoever.

All you guys telling him where he should or shouldn't sell his brush is all well and good but I don't see anyone here offering to buy it. If you think that it should only be owned by a forum member just go ahead and make him an offer.

I understand wanting to keep things close to home, but I don't think eBaying custom and/or group buy items is necessarily a bad thing. A properly written auction with links to B&B and reviews of the item would be good publicity in my opinion. If this item were being auctioned, say to fund the operation of another site, I would be less supportive and would understand folks getting upset at seeing a piece of their hard work wasted or misused.

This is the first time I've seen a B&B brush priced above the original selling price. I hope the seller gets every penny and an upward trend in pricing starts. I think there has been a recent under appreciation of the brush due to them popping up in the sale forum lately. It does not deserve such a reputation and it's about time the price reflects the build quality and performance. I say bump her up to $140.

Default I understand the different opinions

First of all, I understand the different opinions expressed in this forum about this sale. I obviously preferred to sell it here, as that's where I posted it, but if no one wanted it for what I considered a fair price, then I certainly would have tried to sell it elsewhere, and ebay would have been my last stop.

I appreciate the support, and I think that rather than us fighting over it, I want to say that there is a lot of interest, and I have a sale pending. As to raising the price to $140, it's a little late for that...and I am happy to sell it for what I considered a very fair price considering the quality and beauty of the brush.

All of us who share the BAD (brush acquisition disorder) understand the need for occasionally raising funds to support our "habit". No one needs to spend one cent more than they desire to when buying something on this forum. It's a free market, and the true marker of that is interest in an item.
