Unfortunately today's shave was not worthy of a pic b/c I nicked myself and had razor burn. Must of been an old blade and turned out that superlathers are not always the best. I think it messes with the moisturizing/protection of single shaving soap or shaving original properties.

    Default Total Old Spice Morning

I participated in another thread about old spice yesterday, which prompted me to do an Old Spice only morning!!!

'Thursday' 9/16 Spike / Vintage Old Spice Soap / Tweezerman Badger / Vintage Old Spice AS

This Spike is one amazing shaver! Cut my thumb good on it opening it to strop. I tested all my 7 day set yesterday and touched up any razors that needed it. This one needed the complete set of stones as I must have rolled it sometime in the past. Sharp as could be now!! What a great DFS shave! The Old Spice just never fails, even if I do think the soap is a little thin, but it is slick and smells great. This soap is an all original I got for Fathers Day last year. I use it sparingly as I dread the day it is gone!! The AS I have had for at least 30 years, it just sat in a drawer collecting dust for a long, long time. When I got into wet shaving I decided to look for it. I'm sure glad I did!! What a great combo and wonderful scent!

    Enjoy your Thursday Mates!!

    D.R. Harris Arlington
Wade & Butcher restore (thanks mycarver!)
    Fatboy w/ Gillette 7o'clock black (1)
    Rudy Vey Chubby 2 clone
    4711

I sent this blade to mycarver asking for it to look like I just bought it new, as original as possible (save the square tip of the scales)
He did a fantastic job making my dream a reality don't you guys agree?
I was liking the way the blade shaved so much, I decided to shave my neck (which is crazy talk in my current stage of straight shaving)
Shaved like butter. No problems, no blood and no razor burn. Color me impressed.
Then I got too confident and took off the top layer of skin on a part of my chin lol
A quick application of Alum to stauch the bleeding, a quick AG pass from the Fatboy and a splash of 4711 and I was good to go!
    Have a great Thursday Gents!

    Wednesday Night:

Colonel Conk all-metal Trac-II handle with CVS cartridge
    Omega 636 silvertip
Ogallala Bay Rum and Sandalwood soap (I probably only have enough for one more shave after this) and matching after shave splash

Kind of a rough shave. Not sure if I should use that cartridge again; can't remember how many times I've used it. Was in a rush so forgot to use my unscented ASB. Oh well. My shaving bowl and this sample will be empty and I'll be content to move on to a new product after tomorrow (will finish off the soap sample).
