    Default The good old B/S/T...

    I miss the old B/S/T guys. I can't seem to navigate in the new one and I'm not seeing any great posts anymore. My RAD is really kicking into overdrive these last few days and I cant seem to satisfy the itch there anymore. Can we do anything to bring the good old B/S/T back? Im really missing it.

    Unless what we are seeing in the B/S/T is v1 and there is a v2 coming down the pipe in the immediate future, the implementation to the 'concept' of simplifying the user experience in the B/S/T just isn’t working for me. Understanding that the new B/S/T was created in order simplify that user looking for a specific item (5% of the overall users who look into the B/S/T) has just complicated it for the rest of the users (95%) who are not looking for something specific but rather checking out (window shopping) the market for unique deals simply sucks.

    If a majority of users really did enter the market looking for a specific item, that does not explain why most items on the B/S/T are currently sold within minutes of being posted. Simply put, most members who access the B/S/T are not looking for a specific item. They are looking and open to any good catch that they are able to find and currently, it's hella hard to find anything at this point. I've noticed a reduction of items being posted now so I’m pretty sure others are feeling the same...

    Cant we just go back to the old days of doing things???

    This is the 3rd revamping of the BST I have seen, and it always gets worked out in the end to the satisfaction of most.

    I liked the older version also. This version does make it easier to post a WTB and be seen, but then again don't see as many F/S. Don't know if its due to someone seeing the WTB and just going that route, or just a lack of items for sale recently.

    My wife likes the new version, because it seems to be keeping me from buying anything. :(

    Seriously though, I miss browsing BST like I used to. It's a pain now.

    Agree with the disappointment. Would like to see the WTB separate again. Please quit changing it up unless people are getting ripped off or if it's too difficult to moderate.

    At the risk of incurring the wrath of a mod, I'll comment.

    The change in the BST format has driven away many active posters/buyers such as myself. The format change, along with some of the pholosophy that was being posted has sent a number of folks away and elsewhere.

    It will be an unexpected event if the BST returns to the former level of fun and activity.

    The only good thing I can say about the change is that I have saved a ton of money as there is much less activity.

    True. Not many F/S lately and that's a good thing. I'm saving a lot of money. If I don't see, then I don't need it. This is especially true of newbies I suspect. The old F/S area was as much an educational tool with correct title of items, pictures, and prices to steer newbies & lurkers correctly to various vintages than this fromat we see now. Harder to navigate for newbies. The WTB area was for more experienced users without pics but those who have been into this awhile new what was meant when someone posted a New, or Aristocrat # x etc. Imagine going to a flea market with all these itmes on the table with for sale & not for sale and to trade items on the table by the hundreds and having to sort through all of them. Be pretty confusing. But as with all things new, chage is hard and most don't like it.

    Gents - There's a discussion thread for the BST;

    http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthr...-Clarification

    If you'd like to make a complaint and provide a solution to the issues raised in that thread, please feel free to do so.

    Griping and complaining in another thread serves no purpose but to spread discontent amongst those who don't like the change.

    Oops. Sorry mod. No complaints here just observation. Also a robust market place served to "hook" members & newbie into B&B either to the threads or just plain joy of knowing your sale is actively being looked at made you be here just a bit more. Although I'll be here regardless that halo effect is certainly diminished to a certain extent. Part of the joy of going picking was being able to bring back the finds here to B&B quickly and offer them for sale for those needing them. Now with a couple week cycle that "fire" and excitement isn't as hot and I suspect others will either A: find other venues to sell it or B: sell it in bigger lots. But it's hard to quantify all the benifits of a robust marketplace. This has certainly seemed to have been tempered.
