There may be something there. With spring quickly turning into an early summer it is apropro. Must have the gin proritised you know.

Thank you. I will check it out. Beefeater is sort of the old reliable and steadfast brand. Hard to go wrong there.

A friend and I were debating about the best Gin about 20 years ago. It was settled when we went to a bar that specialized in gin drinks.

We sat down and did single shots of straight gin for about three hours and guess what (yea we got plastered but I found out something else too)....

The gin that had the best taste out of EVERY brand we drank was..... Tanqueray... NO KIDDING... It blew my mind as I had been drinking gin costing much more than that brand.

Needless to say I switched brands and never looked back

Tanqueray is my gin of choice but since I primarily make gin and tonics, I've stepped down to Gordon's. I don't make gin cocktails like I used to so I don't need premium gin anymore.

Honestly I prefer Gordon's (made by the same distillery as Tanqueray) over Tanqueray, not as sweet.
    YMMV,

Hendrick's is really smooth, but I actually miss the juniper taste that you get in say, Beefeater.

If you like gin I'd recommend trying Old Tom gin and genever.

I love how there was really only one comment to address the OP while the rest of the comments were about gin itself!

I bought a bottle of Greenall's recently that is mediocre, mild on the taste and that bland palate makes me add a lot to my G&T, which of course gets me tipsy a lot faster. I'll be going back to Gordon's after this. I didn't know Gordon's was made by the same distillery as Tanqueray. The reason I bought Greenall's is because it's the same distillery that makes Bombay!

I'm a fan of Hendrick's, but my favorite is Bombay Blue. Admittedly lately though since I'm an avid gin and tonic consumer I have been using New Amsterdam. Best gin find ever!!! Was short on $$ and said what the heck, rolled the dice and it is fantastic!

Oh boy, I have been a Gin fiend for the better part of 2 decades. Martini, G&T, Gimlet, Salty Dog, Suffering Bastard -- you name it, I drank it. My fans:
    Plymouth
    Bombay (Regular, Sapphire)
    Tanqueray (Regular, Rangpur, and Ten)
    Boodles

    Cheers!
