    Default Vintage Avon recommendations?

A thrift store I went into last weekend had a bunch of old Avon decanters - complete with fragrance.

Not being an Avon guy, I'm wondering - which of these are recommended? I remember seeing Tai Winds which I've heard about here. What's it like? Any good ones to look out for?

Wild country smells very similar to Clubman.

Most Avon scents in decanters are pretty good. Most people class Wild Country with Clubman...I don't get that WC is a little musky and a lot of powder. Now Windjammer is pretty close to Clubman or Canoe.Island Lime is crisp and refreshing.,Light musk is one of the best musk out there IMO.Tai Winds is good(Hai Karate-Brut mix).Blend 7 is in the British Sterling vein.Tribute is very nice cinnamon and floral.Clint is a darker heavier scent as is Oland ,however Oland has a rep as a scent that varies a good bit(i think of oland as clint w/a bit of smokiness.both are said to be in the Aramis class)I like both.Deep Woods is a soapy green scent, nice and light.Everest is another green scent almost grassy in the bottle. There is an avon rose that is marketed as womens but is good for guys,it has a tarry darkness to it that is intriguing. However my bottle has no label so I am not sure which one it is.
    Good luck.

I like Wild Country every so often. The vintage ones seem to have a decent alcohol kick to me when I use them, but the decanters are sort of neat on the counter.

My favorite is Tomorrow. To my nose, it smells a lot like Hanae Mori, but a little smoother and quieter. Kind of mocha and vanilla. It was discontinued just a year or two ago, so it's not all that "vintage."

I forgot Leather. The Avon leather is great. The first time I tried some on and had the woman with me give a sniff, her eyes widened and she perked up and offered to take me home!Unfortunately SWMBO is less enthusiastic about it.SWMBO is "okay" with it.

A mutual TWS buddy and I, also found a thrift store just a few days ago, that was absolutely loaded with vintage NOS Avon Decanters that were all full with their afterhaves. We bought them all out. I am pretty sure That I now have all of the Avon scents. I like all of the scents except one. Sadly, it is the decanter that looks like a giant DE razor. The aftershave in it is called, 'Sure Winner Bracing Lotion'. It has a really different smell compared to the others. Surprisingly, the Oland scent which is absolutely terrible when 'wiffed' straight from the bottle, once applied, is my favorite Avon scent.

All of mine say New York, NY on their boxes. What is the differences between those and the Cali ones?
