Like New Vintage Rooney

Heres my vintage Rooney that just came in the mail today. It is in better shape than I expected. This brush has been used very little. The sticker is in amazing condition with no scratches or anything on the handle. The bottom of the hand is stamped too, my other one isn't. I haven't washed it out yet. It's smaller than I figured it would be and much smaller than my other Rooney. The knot dia at the base is 21mm. Anybody got any idea's on what the grade of hair might be?

Its a pretty nice looking brush, and that 21mm is just fine.

Not sure but it looks like its super badger.

Any ideas on how to preserve the sticker?

Clear fingernail polish seems to be the choice for most Simpson fans.

I use clear fingernail polish to stabilize labels on old aftershave bottles and it seems to work fine, should work on your brush. I see the label says Bristle and Badger so I would assume its a boar badger mix. I would give it a good cleaning and take it for a spin. Beautiful brush.

Yeah I didn't think about the bristle and badger part. I cleaned it and shampooed it and the bristles are clumping together. What would be the reason for this?

I think it would as none of my boar brush have that expansive bloom my badgers have. I'm sure one of our knot specialists will chime in before long.

im using clear fingernail polish as mentioned above.
i have almost same handle little bit fat it was bristle and badger mixed hair and restored with 28mm TGN finest two band.

I think I am going to put a new knot in mine. The badger and boar mix isn't the greatest.
