Default AJ Coffee Company's Entry to the Vendor Hall of Fame

    Vendor Hall of Fame Entry
    What is your real name?
    Jason Haeger
What is the name of your business?
    AJ Coffee Company
    Where are you located?
    Lubbock, TX
What types of products do you carry or services do you provide?
Fresh Roasted, Ethically Sourced Specialty Coffee, World Class Barista training, and Customized Consulting for Specialty Coffee Retailers.
What inspired you to start your business?
A passion and love of coffee and how it effects the lives of all who are touched by it. Coffee has always been something "special" to me. I am a (mostly) self-taught, published, barista competition finalist(3rd place finish, 1st in first round, in 2007 SCRBC) coffee philosopher (as I have been called).

My love of coffee started with the feel of cafe culture, then the mystery and romance of espresso, to the interaction and communication with consumers of specialty coffee. It's been all downhill from there. I spend way too much time in The Cafe' forum. I am obsessive about quality, which I guess might also explain how I ended up at Badger and Blade.
How can the members contact you?(email, phone, website)
    email: info(at)ajcoffee(dot)net
    web: http://ajcoffeeco.com
    phone: 806-319-5752

You can also send me a PM here on Badger & Blade.
Do you ship to the US only or worldwide?
Mostly just the US, though we have shipped as far away as Patagonia, Chile. If your location isn't listed as available, let us know and we'll work it out for you.
What is your age (or) generation?
    I am 28 years old.
What is your favorite shave setup?
Tabac and Feather. Razor: variable. Brush: Variable.

    Is it TABACtober yet?
What are your hobbies and favorite activities?
I love designing logos and web sites as a hobby. I study health and nutrition, also as a hobby. I love Snowboarding, Surfing, writing music, Philosophy, and I especially love studying and learning more about God.

I love a lot of things.
What else should the members of B&B know about you?
    I like feedback.

I will share my life's story with a complete stranger in a 1 on 1 setting, but I am a very private individual when in a group. Go figure.

I have a strong, unshakable faith in God.

    Jason,

Nice to have a new coffee business in Dallas! Only a couple miles from my house.

Any leads on who'll be using your products, or are you opening a coffee house of your own?

I've been going to White Rock Coffee for the last several years; competition is a good thing, yes?

Thanks Bob! We've been selling to a coffee house in a church in Carrollton for some time, now, and we're in talks with Whiskey Cake in Plano. We've only just arrived, and until our space is close to being ready, I won't have time to start making the rounds for sales.

I do believe that competition is a good thing, when done well. I'm familiar with White Rock. It's been years since I've gone there, however. I started tx-coffee.com a long time ago, and haven't really had a lot of time to update it. But.. I'll have plenty of content when I start making the rounds to coffee houses here.

I worked extremely hard for a long time in West Texas in an effort to improve the coffee landscape. There was a point in time when your odds of getting a good cup of coffee in Lubbock were higher than anywhere else in Texas, I'm proud to say. I'm hoping to do something like that here as well. I know that I'm not the only one these days, but I think there's plenty of room for ethical, excellent coffee made approachable with no cliques attached.

Naturally, I'd love for you to drop by if you ever have the time!
