I'm a scientist, a biologist. Standard Error works very well for statistical analysis; not so well for precision manufacturing reliant on micro millimeters.

As I've mentioned I contacted Dr. Dulcamara regarding UFO handle fit on the FaTip. Dr. Dulcamara suggested that ALL UFO handles have the same fit measurements (precisely) and will fit any Fatip.
Naturally, that assumes that Fatip manufacturing is standardized and precise - that does not seem to be the case.

When I get my UFO handle, I will report back.
I, for one, would like to get to the bottom of this "UFO handle on a Fatip" question. I was/am confused by presentation of the Godzilla and Kaiser handles above, but not the Goliath.

If the UFO "Goliath XL" handle does NOT fit my Fatip- I will try a second one.
If it doesn't fit a second one- that's enough of a "sample size" for me - I'll be done with the Fatip.

And if that is the case, you can expect a whole lot of me talking badly about Fatip manufacturing.

I think this is one of my favorite lines of all time!

..... and it's such a revelation... Who knew!

Though I was beginning to suspect this might be the case after I read the first few hundred post about it.

FaTip Chrome on iKOn Handle (it took about 20 wraps of teflon tape to get the handle to work)

I cheated with today's blind blade test. Instead of using the same gear, I wanted to try the blade in a razor that I would be using on a regular basis. I had my wife load the FaTip after I wrapped the threads of the cap in teflon tape. I also wanted to try the Semogue 1438 Boar in an ice water soak for a cold water shave.

The Semogue 1438 Boar is hands down my favorite brush. It had some breaking in from the previous owner and I have been lathering with it daily since it arrived (although not using it for my shave routine). The bristles are very soft, much softer than the Vie-Long Beehive Horse Hair, almost as soft as my vintage Stanley Home Badger. What I love about this brush is the size of the knot, loft and handle. Combine that with an excellent backbone and incredible softness and you have yourself a near perfect brush that has a retail price under $21.00 USD

Today I bowl lathered so I could at least do everything as close as possible to the routine of the blind blade test. The 1438 is a lathering machine. I had enough lather left over in my bowl for at least 3 more passes.

There is now no other brushes for me. I will do a few re-knots to two vintage brushes that I own, but when it comes to purchasing a new brush, the only brushes that I will spend my money on are going to be Semogue.

    I try.

Really, I hope you're next one works because everything I've read about the Fatip also sounds like it provides a really nice shave.

I tried all 3 of the FaTips I own on the UFO Godzilla and had no problem with any of them fitting.Right now I have the Chrome Grande on the Godzilla. This particuliar head wouldn't fit the Tradere handle, didn't fit the iKon handle either.Still the FaTip is a great shaver with stock handle or aftermarket(when they actually fit).

Well it's good to see you use Open combs after a month of the slim. It's amazing how many of us really love the Fatip. When the group buy happened earlier in the year, they came and gone... And a lot ended up on BST..... Now.... We got a bunch of BOTOC love it.... And it has really taken off as "THE" open comb to buy..... I can't live with it! It is my most used razor now.

The brush looks awesome.... I think only other brush you really need is a H.I.S synthetic and you will have a buch of lather making machines.

Im one of the few that can generally always get a good shave from an Astra Sp, But that being said... Once you go to a really wonderful blade like the Gillette Black or a SI, must other blades seem pale by comparison.

Old type and single ring both perform very well on my face..... It's been nice to see some love for them lately.

A quick update on my sons gift his new beloved Joris!
He is in love with his razor, had one little weeper above his lip but other than that a BBS shave! He would like some suggestions for shaving soap fragrances to add to his routine. He loves the Bay rum I got him but he likes to change it up a bit.

    * Good luck with the Astras, James. i, for one, don't like them. You should try the Super Iridiums.

I am conducting this handle thread to try to get a consensus on what handle will fit the Fatip to avoid costly and time consuming errors for our B&B members and users alike. I too think that the Italian Fatip makers are having quality or spec control issues with the razors, I dont think its the handle makers .

I think Connie's sarcasm is in jest only, she knows that we here at B&&B always get down to the real business at hand. We will find out what the constant defective issues are which in return will eliminate any costly/time consuming errors...... and hope the makers can adjust or correct thier issues.
