The problem with zero pressure is zero feedback. Astra SPs allow a tad bit of pressure, sing nicely and deliver BBSs without draining veins and arteries.

I don't think you need any pressure to achieve a good feedback. The right razor and blade combo will allow you to hear the whiskers sing out. I get that from the 7 O'Clock blue blades in my vintage open comb.

Yesterday afternoon my mother passed away. It is hard for me to imagine the world without her in it, so it was a bit tough to get out of bed this morning. Some of you may have already lost one or both parents, but this is new to me.

I managed to get up, get cleaned up, and got a nice two-pass shave. It made me feel a little better.

I hope you all have a better day than I am having.
So sorry for your loss brother. I lost both my parents really early in life, but I can still miss them from time to time. All I can say is that it gets easier and that loss is a part of life unfortunatly.

I don't find I need any pressure to get feedback with the R41 - I can feel there's blade against my face better than with any other razor.

BINGO! I'd like to get a trader handle. Maybe two. The 1904 needs a handle with a bit more mass as well (IMHO).

Gissy, I couldn't finish watching this. Too painful LOL.

Truly, you are a man willing to suffer for his art.

I hope you recover from this and go on to make more videos of a happier ilk, such as your first.

Actuallt the shave wasn't to bad afterwards. Just a couple of weepers, it wasn't much fun putting on high alcohol content AS afterwards though ;)

    Gissy, another great video!!

It's funny, blades really are a YMMV kind of thing... I really like my Derby blades... and Lords; which are another non favorite.

I heard you say you have a Semogue 1305 brush; tell me what is your impression of this brush? I just recieved my 1305 today and had my first shave with it and I rather enjoyed it, it has a nice stiff backbone. I'm just wondering how it will be once it breaks in.

After I broke it in it became my favorite brush! It's so easy to use and with really soft tips, but with great backbone. My next brush will be a Semogue SOC.

That was brave! Funny that three of your least favourite products are things that I like - I like Col Conk lime (though it's not amongst the best), I like Arko Aqua too, and I love Vie-Long horse brushes. I agree about the Derby blades though - those and Merkur blades are my least favourites.

Nice to see you wore a more suitable shaving shirt too
