Here is the 2010 Muhle on the left, the 2008 Muhle R41 on the right:

The 2010 Muhle uses the Merkur 41C head....the 2008 R41 is the fatip Grande!!! No difference, see my photo below

Ah, I didn't know that! I've been kicking myself for not getting a 2010 R41 before stocks ran out - and all along I've got the head on my Merkur 41! Must try that head on my Mühle handle

    Same head used on several Merkur razors....including the 41C(1904 oc) 11C, 12C , 15C and 25C

I need to ask you guys for an opinion.
You know how much I like Bob's work on his handles.
Do you think I should just go buy a long comb and new handle already plated, or should I try to send a razor out and have it done on my own?
I don't even know where to send it or what it would cost, but I already know Bob's prices.

To me it's when you don't really cut yourself, you get more of a raw skin, blood just oozes or seeps out, rather than really bleeding like from a cut. Kinda like a strawberry on you knees or elbows. Am I right guys?

    <shaking head>

You realize this is the curse of Ralph for not using OC for awhile......

Repeat after me a few words of THE OATH:

I swear never to reveal, what I have learned under our sacred seal. Open Combs are my razor to go, and guarded razor i shall not know, In times of night, or times of day, I pledge my troth to always stay , true to the Brotherhood of the Open Comb or death by Ralph I might succumb....

I cant even mention the raspberry( or as some would say...strawberry) clause!!

Now go have some single malt and sit in mediation in the shave room of reflection.....you will master the R41!!

Well, a decent replate depending on what you replate with could cost $55 plus....Bob's prices I think are a great value for what you get.....

Where does all Bob's news come from? Do members trade them in during time of purchase?

There is something about customer service and service after the sale that you really can't place a dollar amount on. IMHO, BRW provides both. Last year I ordered a Long Comb New on a Bull Mastiff handle from Bob. He sent me an email with the price, including shipping to Australia. I sent in my payment.

A few days later he emailed me and said, "Stu, I mucked up! I do not have any Long Comb New heads in stock, so I am going to send you a Goodwill Head (same as the New) + a Short Comb New no charge if that's okay with you. Both heads arrived about ten days later with a Bull Mastiff deluxe handle. What more can I say?

There is no selling me on Bob's work. I already had his Bull Mastiff handle and loved it, but like a fool I sometimes get to be I sold it off thinking I was going to get another right away and now Bob is not here right now.
    Talk about kicking myself.

Thats a good question...maybe best answered by Bob. I'm assuming form flea markets, ebay, etsy... maybe even some from memebers or trade ins...if he is just using the heads, the rest of the razor can be in crap shape....doesn't matter...and he is replating the heads...

I have the very nice New Long comb with straight teeth I would not mind having Bob run his magic on with a handle and replate!

I found one today just like the one on the right, but had a hug crack in handle and it was in really bad shape and the woman was asking $25 for it. I did not think you would want it so I did not bother with it.
