I tried with it, but it just did not agree with me. My wife did not even want to watch me shave this morning.
I did the Scrubbing Bubbles and traditional 10 minute soak in the Barbicide already. Sorry to see it go too!.

I think I will stick with the one Purchased here on B/S/T a couple weeks ago. Very fine shaver, and in a case no less. [IMG][/IMG]

Hmmmm......the Long Comb NEW tends to be one of the most loved razors, not just by the BOTOC but by B&B members in general. Maybe it's the photo, but the cap doesn't seem to fit down on the base tight enough and the gap seems pretty large...far more than mine.

I wouldn't give up so quickly brother....with the proper blade must of us have had that "ah ha" moment with the NEW.....
my favorite is the SC....I LOVE the SC....but I don't find the LC overly aggressive.....far less aggressive to me than my Old Types or my R41...

Favorite blades in my LC are: Supermax Super Platinum (self proclaimed Evangelist for them!) Israeli Red Personna, Iridium Supers, and Gillette Blacks....I dont like the Derby, Astras, Gillette Yellow in mine ..( the yellow is SHARP but feels harsh in this razor....and I LOVE Yellows....like yellows in my SC)

Good luck Frank!! and before u BST, give it a few more...if you do sell....maybe look in this thread first and see if there has been any newbies that have been asking and shoot them a PM.....Good karma to sell what we paid for a razor to a brother!

Can anyone give me a pic of the underside of the cap separated so I can get a good view of another one?

Default Fatip question to my brothers

I am waiting for my Fatip Grande to arrive either today or tomorrow!! woohoo!!

My question to any of my brothers that own either the Fatip or Muhle 2008/9 R41, what is your favorite blade combo with this razor???? My brother seems not to get a close shave with his....and from what Ive read this is a fairly aggressive razor...a step below my much loved 2011 R41.

Looking for that sweet spot with this razor...and dont want to spend the next month trying every blade combo...lol!

    Thanks for any input!!!

I have sold quite a few razors on B/S/T only because I cannot seem to find many that really suit me that well. I loved the DE89, but yes, I got rid of it for my open comb razor. I use a couple Birth SS razors that I enjoy as well as the open comb I posted before in the case. That by far is my favorite so far. I do keep trying though. That's why I keep selling razors on B/S/T. By no means is it a hobby of mine to sell, just a deep search for that elusive "perfect" razor.

Thats what it looks like brother...that the tops of a SC and LC got mixed up...this happened a while back in another post, and once the OP corrected it...LOVED the LC!!

Good Luck....and again...normally the LC isnt really aggressive....

Here is a pic of my LC to compare....notice my gap is MUCH less....

Yeah, your LC there looks wrong...it should not have that huge gap like that.

Darn that wasn't from the BST was it? I would expect that from Ebay, hopefully they didn't know, would make me angry if they did.

Hopefully you can get that fixed out. That blade gap looks pretty close to shaving with a straight!

This razor is NOT from B/S/T. This is a razor I picked up on the outside one day while the wife was looking for some antiques. I went off on my own and found this and bought it.

I've been reading this thread off and on ever since it was started; now I've finally decided to give my OC a try. It is a GEM MicroMatic (MMOC). I've heard this is a very aggressive razor, so I think I'll let my beard grow out for 2 or even 3 days and then try it just on the cheeks at first..

Hmm, they actually look like the right parts, but they are definitely not fitting together properly, based on the side view. I gotta look around a little more. The only way I can achieve that is with a goodwill cap, and the LC new base plate.

I tried a SC cap, and a Tech cap and they both mated to the New better than yours does.

Hi Ken,I'm not a member of BOTOC yet,but I also ordered a Fatip Grande.I understand the Joris has a similiar or the same head depending on who you ask.I used a Red IP in my Joris and got great results and I'll probably use the same blade in the Fatip.
