Thumbs up I've got the angle :-) ...

The less blade exposure a razor has, the smaller the range of shaveable angles where the blade can touch your skin. They can be tricky to keep the blade in contact. Even when you do make contact, that may not be a good blade angle for getting good "bite" on the hairs in your particular beard, thus resulting in need to go over areas more, particularly if you're trying to get *very* close. There is often a claim that "milder" razors will just automatically give you less irritation, but that is sometimes not the case. More aggressive razors give you more angle choices, which can let you tailor the blade angle to the needs of your particular beard. I wouldn't give up on the post-war tech though - you certainly need to make sure your angle is spot on to get the maximum blade contact. But it's possible, if when you do use it perfectly, that it won't work well for your beard. Fortunately, you already have something that works for you..the pre-war Tech :).

I shaved with my New long comb with an Astra blade today for the first time. Either my technique has improved tremendously or it is a fine razor.

I picked this up today at a sale. It cleaned up really good. Teeth are very straight. I will give it a try first thing Monday morning to see how it handles a two day growth.

I would love to have it refinished if it turns out to be a great shaver.

The weight is heavier than the stock handle - the length is longer and it balances the R41 ideally for me.
