Don't know if anyone's posted this yet, but shaving.ie is another source for the fatips (except for the nickel grande). It's nice to have a current production razor that's brass rather than zamac.

I cheated on the brotherhood tonight (and the LOSER's) and had my evening shave with my red tip loaded with a med prep. It was my first time trying med preps and I wanted to go with a razor that has always given me good results.

My initial impression of the med preps is that I like them very, very much. It removed all of my hair in three passes (I normally go 4 with the red tip) and it was incredibly smooth. I'll see how long it lasts, but I MAY have a new favorite blade. (this after I just bought 100 Astra SP's this morning! which is another blade that I have never shaved with)

I was the same way the first time I tried med preps and labs....overall a good blade....BUT after I tried Super iridiums, and Gillette Blacks, everything else is kind of pale in comparison. My problem with most personna blades is I find them VERY razor dependent.....they work great in some of my razors, but others, they give me worse irritation than a week old Derby!

I can't believe she said it either, if Mom was here she would wash her mouth out with soap.

Enjoy the new razor, it looks good and congrats to all the other winners. What a nice gesture from Phil.

Haven't been keeping up with the BOTOC thread lately, sorry, gents.

Anyway, I'm warning any newbs that peruse this thread that OCs are the worst kind of AD I've developed.

I originally bought an Old type ball handle along with the obligatory cracks to participate in Open Comb March. Epoxy took care of the loose end pieces and (hopefully) has stabilized the cracks from worsening.
Not content with that, I next bought a LC NEW with a common bar handle. Very little plating with a totally copper cap.
Can't have just a LC NEW, so next up was a SC NEW, also bar handled.
Loved the NEWs, and just in case the shavepocalyse comes along soon, I knew I had to have spares. So, another SC NEW joins the ranks, this time a Norfolk version with the slightly shorter bar-type handle. A couple shaves to get practice in with it and it disappeared into my Dopp.
Next, I knew I needed another LC NEW. The next one came with a ball-end handle with, again, the obligatory cracks. Much smaller than the Old-type, but there. Another round of epoxy and it's good-to-go.
Now, friends, if you've been keeping track I've got two LC NEWs, two SC NEWs, and only one Old-type. A successful eBay bid yesterday remedied that. Another Old-type is on it's way, also with the ball-end handle. Pics don't show a crack, but I'm envisioning the unseen side to be split the full length. I can't tell for sure, but it might just have the older, thinner cap on it.
Whew. Six OCs in the last three months. Good thing they are all "gold" and OCs so the wifey can't tell how many there really are.

Now, I find I've been looking at TTO OCs lately...

Pray for me, brothers, pray for me.

Sounds to me like you've been exercising considerable restraint! Six razors in three months? That's only one every two weeks!

I don't mind paying my fair share of taxes for the social benefits Canadian society enjoys, but at least you're living in a province that still has a governmental head one its shoulders. Being an Ontario resident, I am sodomized on a daily basis to the whims of the McGuinty Liberals at Queens Park with their green energy schemes and cradle to grave indoctrination for big government to name a few. Retirement to the west coast seems so far away... :-(

I settled him down. Had to give him another scotch! I explained to him that Jerome was a new comer to the Brotherhood and hadn't been fully initiated yet.

It is safe as long as you don't use the "O" word.
