Do you use it to singe your whiskers off rather than shave them? BBQ Sauce instead of Shaving Cream?

I had ordered two iKon handles to go on my re-plated Gillette News when they come in. The handles arrived and are very nice. I posted picks already here. I come to realize that I did not need two and wrote back to the distributor and asked him if he would accept a return of one of the unused handles back. The response I got was not what I had expected. He informed me that iKon has a NO RETURN policy, even if the handle has not been mounted to a head. He said unless I wanted to claim a defect, I was pretty much stuck with the extra handle. I informed him I would not claim a defect because there was none. I just did not need two. It is what it is I guess. Just be careful when ordering and make sure you check on their policy before you place that order no matter who you purchase from. A lesson learned here!

    Frank,

I agree that there would be no problem selling one of the iKon handles on B/S/T.

Speaking as a Fountain Pen Person, I can say with authority that you guys are not as crazy as FP people. Funnier and more easy going but not crazier. Having waded through many threads concerning how two pens whose length differs by a MM can be or not be balancing in the hand properly. Whether the amount of flex in a nib is good. bad or makes no difference and many arguments thereof. The correct brand and color of ink combined with the exact type of paper to use. The many complaints that the paper in a pad is not consistent so that different pen and ink combinations have to be used on different pages when using the pad. The eternal question of whether one should match the color of ink to the pen color. Not to mention the high cost of the modern pens. No, you people are not as crazy. (except when the conversation strays off topic) Some times I have to check the thread title to see where I am. But the threads are funny, informative, and best of all, entertaining.

Sooooooooo just got done with my first shave with a long comb NEW. And wow. just wow. Love my fatboy, but this thing just cut through my beard.
I had taken my full beard that I have been wearing for years down with no guard on a hair trimmer. Did my normal shower routine. Thought let's get crazy and change it up a bit. So with what is essentially a 4-5 worth of growth got effortlessly mowed down by this bad boy! Threw a brand new Astra SP in and loaded up some Razorock.
SUPER IMPRESSED. BBS everywhere but my neck (have been working on technique there and had a few rough days). Still got a DFS on the neck. Give me a few days an I might be a convert!

After a time, you may reduce that number...and just reduce it down to 1 because it has the qualities you are looking for....

I have tried lots of different razors....in search of the perfect combo....but just like dating....its nice to have choices every few days!

I popped my OC cherry this morning with this one's cousin. Feels like zipping around in a bare bones German sports car - no extra knobs, no metal where it isn't needed and a lot of steering feedback. Classic utilitarian style.

The one in pieces here has the finish pretty much worn off on the head so it may be a candidate for decapitation, refinish in bright nickel and a bulldog handle. The gold caught my wife's eye so I think the silvery razors all look close enough to the same that they fly under the radar.

Ha! Aint that the truth. To my wife, there are two kinds of razors: silver-colored ones and gold-colored ones.

Maybe we need to come up with some crazy topics? How the phases of the moon affect the magnetic pull on various razor and blade angles...or perhaps how less than a half degree shift in water temp while lathering can cause weepers and irritation????

Now, you are getting there. I'd like to see some discussion of how the thickness of the plating during the years the NEW was produced affects the balance and which years were the best.

Just used an Israeli Personna blade in my EJ89. I plan to move it up the DE Razor aggressive totem pole to see how well it performs.
It did well in the EJ89 so I expect it to do as well in the 1904.

I have used Personna Meds in my R41 to find them very good around the nose and chin.
So far my favorite blade in the R41 are the Astra and the Personna Meds, a close 2nd.
However I predict that the Israeli Personna will be just as good.
I'll post a comment when I load and use the Israeli Personna in the R 41.

BTW. I mentioneed that I use a DE razor to 2 people at work. Both Confused the DE with a twin blade cart razor. I also motioned that it takes me about 15 min to shave and… They could or would not understand.
    Oh well

Even when I used a Cart. I took about 10 min and now that I know about the pre-shave it would be the same 15 min.
Oh well, life goes on and I feel good in the morning with out the face or fire.

    Thanks
