What kind of fish do you keep April? I raise Tropheus, mostly wild caught. I have a beautiful group of WC Red Rainbows. I am trying to thin out my tanks now, because I have a new passion that is just as costly as fish. Down to 12 tanks from 19, going to pare it down even more. And you do have a habit of picking up some awfully nice razors.

Well right now I only have three tanks 2 salt water and one 2 1/2 gallon betta tank with a male and three females and lots of plants :) I also have two rather large ponds 25ft x 25 round and 11ft x 11ft with koi . The larger pond has the big koi 18" on up and some babies and the smaller pond has baby koi 2-8" African Cichlids are beautiful! Thank you :) I really like the ornate ones :)

Gissy, thanks for sharing! I have a Gillette Old Type travel razor and love it...find the light weight, and size very use to use.
Derby's always seem to pull and tug except in my R41 and the perform well in that razor.

For a shave you seemed to sabotage with your least favorite things you still seemed to get a pretty good shave!

Alex...do you have any videos to share on j strokes....I don't think alot of guys "get" the j stroke thing....I dont use J strokes really my self...BUT I do break my face/neck into zones....and most people here would be shocked at the amount of "changing of angles" I seem to make per pass....

My first pass is always shorter strokes...but other passes do tend to get longer...like gissy's passes....

BOTOC brothers, let me ask you a question that I'm sure has been asked dozens of times in this thread.
Which do you find more aggressive, the Short Comb NEW or Long Comb? I LOOOOVE the short comb, but the one I have is a PIF and I have to send it on its way soon. (For a second I thought about keeping it and PIFing something else in its place...but I can't do that. Not when there are more Open Comb converts to be made with it!)
I've been looking for a user grade NEW short to replace it, but there aren't any deals on eBay right now. There are some longs, though. I thought I'd ask for some input before I dove in.
Who am I kidding, though? Of course I am going to buy it!
Tell me I am making the right decision! (I know I can count on you guys)

It;s an individual thing, everyone is different and so is the skin, so you may have to try both to truly know the difference. Buy 2 cheap NEWS and see what fits you better, or just wait for advise from each member here and decide,

I know I should have used shorter strokes with this blade, but when I use my favorites I don't have to. I guess that is why I like them ;)

Everybody in praise of Astra SP should give Supermax Platinum a try. Even I thought that Astra is the right combination of sharpness, smoothness and price. But man I was blown away with the Supermax Platinum this week. Definitely my no. 1 blade right now.

Tragedy is that the blade is produced in India but I can't get hold of it locally - I have to buy some from bestshave.net to try it out :( .

I have to admit, I tried a tuck of them recently and the results were very good. The only thing I can't work out is the packaging. Are they SuperMax Platinum or SuperMax Super platinum?

Yes she is extraordinary, we should be proud to have her as 1st sister of the BOTOC, I guess she is the Rosa Parks of Traditional Wet Shaving. She does an excellent restoration of razors to keep the tradition alive.
